    So what we need:
    Are interestested to attend?
    What time of year?
For how long can you get away for?
with CT or without? (will not be doing Simpson Crossing with CT)
I think I will split my suggestion off for the 2009 GTG as I think you guys are talking about 2008 GTG.

My suggestion is not heavy 4x4 tracks but more of a family oriented light 4x4 stuff with the opportunity to do more adventurous 4x4 tracks for those so wishing.

All up looking at a 3 week timeframe for most people who are travelling from the East or West coasts.

Anyway I will start a new thread for 2009 GTG and leave this one for your Simpsons Desert trip GTG. Otherwise it will get confusing.

I was talking about 2009 as well. Some pople will want to be more adventures and go through Simpson Desert on the way through. Most will more likelly be able to be away for 2 weeks only due to work/school commintements/etc....

Okay I on the same page as you now. ops:

What I am going to suggest is that we run both threads with the common part of the itinery being the kick off at Molly's Bash at Old Andado Station. Then at the conlcusion of the Bash we would separate into two separate groups, one group doing the Simpson Desert crossing and the other doing the itinery that I suggested that way we will cater for just about everyone on PP who would want to do a Red Centre trip with the ability to meet up with other forum members. What do you reckon on that brief?

The thread for the alternate itinery for after Mollys Bash is here:

          Mav,

At this point I am just throwing ideas around... The original thought was
to go through the Simpson Desert on the way through as I am going from Victoria. If there are enough interest we could do a double crossing - on the way in and on the way back.... We would plan to visit Alice, Ayers Rock/Kings Canyon/McDonalds Rangers on the way through as well... Another issue is the timing. While May suits us fine, it won't suit many others..

Yeah, sorry about that ops: My brain read and understood 2009 but I typed in 2008 out of habit. Took me about 2 months to stop writing this year as 2007 :!:

So .... Very, very keen for May/June/July whenever in 2009.

                Hi Everyone,

Now that the date and place for 2009 PP meet has been set there are still a lot of things that need to be organized.

At the moment I am looking to get T-shirts, windcheaters, stubby holders and beanies with PradoPoint logos organized specifically for that trip. So if anyone got talents in logos design and/or knows where we can get the following organized please let us know either via this thread or via pm.

If anyone got any other ideas feel free to add your 2 cents

hard pitching the tent on there
