Hazza, certainly happy to meet up Saturday afternoon if you are there, I will stick to channel 16 while there too to make things easy.

Will do a call out to PPers on our arrival.

If anyone wants to catch up for a beverage or 10 on Saturday night, feel free to drop by our cabin.
We will probably be back at the cabin by sundown to put bub to sleep.
Then campfire BBQ and drinks it is

Bugger Dan! I am sure there will be a "next time" in the near future.

PP04, glad this rain has gone away, hopefully chance for stuff to dry our enough to gather some dry firewood... maybe wishfull thinking? lol

As long as we can keep bub warm enough thats all that matters

Looks like the weather will be good for the weekend and should be a good trip.

            shame, shame, shame......
Seriously No problems Dan, but there is always next time. A few others that were coming with me have also pulled out as well due to family commitments.
But I am still coming with one of my boys Dan2. It will be nice and green, wet and cold out there I reckon.
Looking forward to Sunday I will be on UHF channel 16 and be there about 9-9.30am.

            Cheers

Had a great weekend though bloody cold. This was after it had been light for an hour on saturday morning:

I was surprised how nice the campsites were. Lots of big open grassy areas all along the creek. The creek was fantastic, nice rocky bottom, no sludge. Heaps of shallow bits where the young kids can play and a few deeper holes that'd be nice for a good swim in summer:

We went out for a short drive with my brother-in-law in his old pajero on saturday afternoon. The map was pretty useless so we just drove wherever we saw a track. We found one that wound along through the cabin area and floowed the creek through some paddocks with a few tricky gullies. The pajero got hung up in one with only 2 opposite wheels and the towball on the ground and nothing happening but some maxtrax solved the problem. A quick drive out the other end of the park up to to the lookouts after that. FYI, there are two lookouts but both require a 480 metre walk from the road to get to. Apparently, they are very nice but as we had two sleeping babies in the cars, we didn't go to either one of them. There's also a 1.8km walk to a waterfall that I'm told was also quite nice. Hazza and the guys were up on the ridges that day and apparently had a ball. I'm sure he'll post a few good pics but it was well after dark when they rocked up back at the campsite to air up so they must have enjoyed themselves.

Sunday, we met up with Gumboot and DSS150 and had a bit of a play in the quarry area. It was entertaining for a bit and gave me a chance to see what the hill descent control did (not much except make a noise when it was that steep and slippery).

A bit further up the track was an impressive bog hole. After we tested the depth, we decided it would be a bad idea to try it but gumboot tried the next gully across with less than stellar results:

A fair bit of digging and a quick snatch sorted it out but when the muffler sank into the mud and started hissing, we thought he'd ripped off an air line.

I headed back to camp to pack up and let the kids play a bit before heading home but the others continued on so I imagine they'll have some more to post. Overall, the place is great and being nearby to a few other 4wd parks, it looks like we might try to head back for a week later it the year when it's warmer and have some time for driving and some for relaxing.

Great to meet up with you Dan and Tiny. Was a bit chilly in the morning but you could not ask for a better winters day!
I was exhausted from the long day in the saddle so will dig through the photos in the next couple of days, after I wash the 2 tonnes of Sticky mud off the Prado....

We got home late this afternoon and unpacked just before dark. Managed to get out to Condamine River Crossings on the way home which we loved.

Was great to meet Tiny, gumboot, Hazza, George and I think it was Basil?

Sorry I didn't catch up with you for the Saturday arvo run guys, we tried calling out on the radio but you must have been out of range by then.

Had great fun playing in the pit on Sunday and a great run on Sunday with gumboot and son.

Got lots of pics and footage, will take me a while to go through it all too.

Will post just this one for tonight, nice and toasty with the Mrs
