Hi all,
Took the new toy on its first adventure yesterday, a driver training course near the black spur.
If anyone is going 4wding and hasn't done a training couse, DO ONE!!
The techniques for descending were worth the price alone, it gives you a lot more confidence it what your car can do.
How'd the Prado go?
It was far and away the most capable 4wd there.
It was the only car not to get bogged and was the only car to attempt and go through some of the more difficult sections.
The reason is was head and shoulders above the others... lockers !!!
It's the first time I've driven a car with lockers and they were worth their weight in gold. Our car strolled though areas where others struggled or got stuck.
The other impressive thing on the prado, besides general comfort and drivability, was how low 1st gear was (auto). By the rate we were decending some tracks the prados 1st gear seemed a lot lower than other autos.
All in all a fantastic day for the whole family. Highly recommended.
If you're planning on using your 4wd as a 4wd, put 2 things on your required accessory list :-
1 - snorkel
2 - lockers
Great fun for all 8)
