Mount Disappointment

Hi Everyone,

I have just finished planning a trip to Mount Disappointment, i have planned the trip to suit everyone coming on the day.

Start off - Dry Creek Road heading towards the ladder.

Group 1 for those wanting to tackle The Ladder
Group 2 are taking Pipeline track to meet at the top in the andersons garden picnic area

from there we re group heading up towards stoney creek road onto Nylander spur road on to main mountain road onto tonsil spur road onto film track onto tehans road onto an unnamed track finishing on flower dale road.

I've never been to Mount Disappointment before and have heard mixed reviews i have 4 guys who are relatively inexperienced 1 of them acts first and thinks later.....

There is myself and one another with more experience - none of the cars have a winch however we do have recovery gear etc.

Would really appreciate some feedback from those of you who have been there before as i want to make it a fun day out for everyone.

In total we have 6 cars, heading up on Saturday meeting at Heathcote Junction at 9.

You didn't get a lot of responses
I have been a few times now, over the last few months.

We were at the Ladder today. I chickened out at the beginning of that track, I think its called the bump, after the first few bog holes. The next section has quite a serious tilt and the walls were too close for my comfort (and I didn't want panel damage).
I parked up and We proceeded in my mates Suzuki Sierra. when we got near the end at the difficult section, he ended up with the car on its side (small cars are easy to push up again though (luckily) - my Prado would not be so easy !

Gotta give you that one...... I've been back to Mt Diss a few more times each time finding new tracks.

When my trusty navigator gets home i'll post the last trip we did, which requires you to have a winch and basic recovery gear a 2" lift whilst not essential would stop you from clenching your arse cheeks together in parts.

Rest of the tracks are full of bog holes.

On the original trip posted above getting in to the ladder we almost had one guy lay it over on its side, one guy bent a cross member on a stump (didn't listen to the instruction) and another guy fall into a hole which was again driver error.

Have made it to the top of the bump in the dry, was a bit of an effort.

Tried again last weekend but no glory this time round.

Have always found fun tracks at Disa
