Is there access to the top of the chassis rail? Can drill right through the chassis and use long bolts coming up from the bottom with nuts?

Can you drill out the broken bolt and run a tap through it to re-cut the thread?

Actually never had a problem with that. I just use any brand from SuperCheap and seems to work ok.
Perhaps the wiper structure is not putting even...

333,000 on mine. Did the head gaskets just recenly, starter motor, idler bearings and serpentine belt, water pump, a/c compressor, front wheel bearings...

Hey Alex. Does not sound good mate. Had simular issues and ended up replacing my head gaskets. Big job, did not enjoy it. That was at 330,000 kms....
