I think we were planning on getting away about 4, which should get us there a bit before you. We can get the fire going

I will also tie some red balloons above the Icy Creek sign on Nanga Rd so people will know where to turn.

Do you have a chainsaw?? if not you can grab mine. I wont be there untill saturday. If you do I will give it a sharpen.
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

                    Cheapest Diesel tomorrow !!!

for those taking SW Highway - you have to drive right past it:

174.5, Diesel, United Armadale, 178 South Western Highway ARMADALE

for everyone else - don't forget to use FuelWatch - it can save you money if you use it properly (ie search for tomorrow's prices).

                    • I spoke to the CALM Ranger this morning and they have a map of a new track in Dwellingup that incorporates part of the Murry River Trip.

I will call in on the way down tomorrow and pick a copy up and see what it looks like.

Could maybe do that one Sunday morning 8)

                        • Hi all,

                          Have fun down South people....

We will be unable to attend due to my Mazda being photographed for Perth Street Car Magazine on Saturday.

It should be coming out in a few months and after a discussion with Mototrim this morning, you will be able to see some of Moto's handy work in the interior when the publication is released.

                          • We've had to race home as Bek's mum is a bit crook (I've said that for years  ) and I thought I'd whet your appetite and throw a few pics up .... I'll add words later .... but most of them speak for themselves.

With any luck I'll get to head back up at dawn and catch the lads for part 2.

There's just one minor problem .... either someone installed a supercharger while I wasn't watching ... or I've shat another idler bearing. Its a strange whirring noise that gets louder and faster as the revs increase. Everything still runs fine ..... its just noisy as hell.
.... or maybe its something wierd like a fan clutch :?

Great find Moto ... and extremely welll led for the day. Also great to meet some new faces .... Bundy, Kaz and the tribe ..... and Pomp, Hayley and Lou .... just to add to the usual mob that was .... Moto & Elaine, Fishnut & Deb, Russ & Jen, Just*Managing, Leachy & Jen, Raydes, Bek & I .... and a surprise late inclusion .... Sharky

Icy Creek is an awesome facility .... 6 cabins, each capable of sleeping 8 in comfort, big kitchen and dining area, rotunda with firepit and room to sleep 50, a huge camping ground, an oval and an odd assortment of drop dunnies, flushers and showers. Top spot and dirt cheap.

There was plenty of the regular combo .... mud and rocks.

There was also a lot more water flowing thropugh here since the last time we crossed. First Fishnut went for a stroll .....

Then Leachy entertained the girls to a bit of appropriate music ....

Let's just say the water was extremely COLD ..... and there are times when it is best to not show a bloke's face

This climb was challenging, last time we were here, in the dry. Add the rain that we've had since and it became a whole new world

                            Cheers

                            • Nice shots Chippy, I don't think I would have been that game taking a non snorkel Prado through that crossing.

                              • That thought only occured to me when I went back through the pics .... and noticed one vehicle didn't have a snorkel. ops: ops:

I just remember what happened to me last time I went through water without a snorkel.

.... but Mike suffered no ill effects ...
