What are the 3 parallel logs next to the log crossing? Are they an attempt at a bridge?

It will what remains of the original logging track bridge. The rest of the bridge is lying in the creek making an intersting obstacle..

Hi,

For anyone interested here is the Google Earth file consisting of GPS co-ordinates of the Watagans trip. I set the wavepoints to be recorded every 50 meters of travel, and it shows the exact trip, time etc. Also shows just how close we were to the end of the trail (frustrating).

It starts at the beginning of the freeway and finishes there also. You will need to have Google Earth installed on your computer to view this. Simply unzip and double click on the file. Google Earth with take you to the exact spot and you can view satalite imagery of the route we took.

Not knowing the area... I assume the single branch in the log is where you turned around.

In google earth I saw a little grey line(rd) just ahead of where you turned around... is that what u were heading for?

Yep, according to my GPS we were about 300 to 400m from the next track.

Yep, according to my GPS we were about 300 to 400m from the next track.

DOH!!! Next trip will have to be to that point (via the easy way) to find a way around
