  • Tassie Gathering- Report & Pics on Page 5

Ok so there are not to many of us here in Tasmania but that should not stop us from having a get together for a day trip or weekend to meet, swap ideas and say we have spotted a fellow PPer.
If interested get back to me.
Have no ideas what or where. Need to see where we all are in the state and then take it from there.

Keep reading about all the getogthers on the north island off Tasmania and am getting a bit jealous.

    Re: Tassie Gathering

    Hi VKPrado
It would be great to see some Tassie trip reports come out of a get together.
I believe "switched" from Adelaide was heading to Van Demons land in Feb/March this year with his Prado and family.
Try sending him a PM, He might be keen to catch up while over there.
Would also love to head over with the Kids and the Prado ourselves.
Will not be this year however as its the opposite pole of the compass that we are heading for in July (Cape York)
We might have to make it a Ten year honeymoon anniversary trip.
    Cheers Troy

      VK,

Were based south of Hobart, but not fussed about driving anywhere in the state. From WA so distance over here is nothing. I do know that 'Strahan' is from the Hobart as well. Think there is another PP somewhere in Tassie as well.

      Always free most Saturday's.

        Re: Tassie Gathering

Just did a quick search of some notes and there are four of us from Tassie. There are; VKPrado, Strahan, johnv, ronb1002. So that makes three in the south and one in the north. Just need to pick somewhere to meet then pick a date and we can then add our own trip report. Will send a PM to the other three and see what happenes

          HI VKPrado,
The two of us will be down in Tas late feb to middle of March and could be keen for trip. But as the boss pointed out we are on a tight schedule while down there so it depends what day and whether she gets one of her infamous migraines. Among other places, we are staying 3 nights in Strahan and 3 in Hobart between 2nd - 7th March with the Sat 6th in Hobart but morning is scheduled for salamanca markets (arvo free though) Got any ideas on locations yet?

                Hi Fellow Pradopointer

It is one of our must do trips to see Tassie, reading the mags and seeing DVD's you guys have some of the best 4WDriving Oz. How about some suggested trips for us "Other Islanders" to do?

The big trouble is the distance, don't forget if you venture to Qld send us a note and we will set up some trips up here for the Taswegians.

                Regards, Richo.

Bugger VKPrado your letting our secrets out ,next thing you know w'ell be overrun with "Big Islanders " . I'm also from Hobart but spend most of my time ......well every where . Do a lot of west coast , Bass Straight islands , bizzar out of the way places and paid to go there in a supplied fourby ( shock horror a Nissan Patrol ) . Use my Prado to go to the pick of them latter , I'll post a few pics when I get the chance .

                    Re: Tassie Gathering

Hey Big Bruce. I think it is a bit late to try and keep the state to ourselves as Roothy and Pat have done a good job showing that north island what we have on offer.
I am always willing to go and try different parts of this state but do confese that I have to keep reminding myself that the wife needs the Prado during the week so can not go to hard offroad in it.

I can understand that vkprado , I know the damage that can be done off road . Fortunately I get my really hard trips during work hours and can take it easy on my car . Here is a photo to illustrate ( sorry every time I go out in a Patrol I strike trouble !) , even in tough conditions I aim not to damage it .

This was at Mt Read near Rosebery

This is my preferred form of travel ( Big Dog island , near Flinders island)

Sorry don't have any with my Prado (Big Bruce) on as I'm on my work PC ,going to Sandy Cape soon for work ..........complete with 8 tonne 4wd truck ,could be interesting !

A tassie get together is a great idea.

I was down there recently for Targa Wrest point (Hobart environs), Meant to be again this weekend for Rally Tasmania (Burnie) and then in a month roughly for Targa Tasmania.

Not sure what your dates/times are..

From my point of veiw Anosons Bay would suit me as it would most likely be a day trip with our young ones and it would give a chance to have a drive around the area. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Team Piggy- have sent you a PM about Targa.
