    TRIP REPORT (pg.2) : NSW - Colo Hts, Newnes SF

    Well the weather forecast is looking good & I’m free this Saturday & Sunday so may have another day out if anyone’s interested


    Post up if you want to come along.

    OK we are also heading out on Saturday to Newnes State Forest, some folks want to find some muddy terrain

    Meeting at: Richmond macca's at 8:30am. Bring your food & supplies for the day.

    UHF channel 17 to avoid the locals who use 16 at the mines in the area :!:


    A Sunday trip is still on if anyone wants to come :!:

    Sunday we will head up the Putty Rd. to Womerah/Wallaby Swamp area :!:

    Meeting at: The Ampol garage on the Putty Rd at Colo Heights.
    Meeting time is 9am, departing about 9:15am

    Directions:

    The Ampol garage is located at Colo Heights which is a 35 minute drive from the bridge at Windsor crossing the Hawkesbury River. You will be on the Putty, or Singleton Rd., heading north, road #69.

    From the bridge at Windsor, you will drive a few k's to the town of Wilberforce. It will be a 60k zone, keep on the main road which veers left, it will be signposted to Singleton:

    From here just stay on the main road; you'll go through East Kurrajong & then down to the Colo River, cross the bridge, up the other side where it will be very twisty/windy till you get to the Colo Heights area. Garage is on the right, & it's the only one till Singleton. We will be on the right as you come in. You can fuel up here if required & there is a small shop & toilets:

    Hey Glenn,

    Would love to come, but any chance we can make it Saturday instead, I dont think I can do Sunday and im hanging to get out and play in the mud some more!!!
    My Rig: 150 GXL D4D, Tough Dog adjustable suspension with 60mm lift, Polyair bags, ARB Winch Bar, Warn Winch with Dynamica Rope, Outback Ideas recovery points, GME UHF, HID Low/High Beam, Lightforce Genesis HID Spots, Dual Battery Setup with rear power outlets, ARB air compressor in engine bay, ~30L Watertank mounted behind fueltank.

      I'll see what I can do....usually take Daughter #2 to & from work on Saturdays but should be able to make other arrangements, will let you know.

      Can still do a Sunday trip too if anyone prefers that day :wink:

            Im easy where we go, somewhere with a variety of fun challenges and some slippery terrain

            Let me know where and when to meet and we can go from there.

              Righto then I reckon our usual Newnes State forest is the closest for mud. Can you meet me at Richmond Mcdonalds at 8:30am Saturday :?:

                    I'd be up for a day out on Sunday. Can't make Saturday as the sconeburners working and I've drawn the netball taxi shift

                      Sunday is fine Dobbo, pick a destination :wink: but not Stockton Beach as I'm still trying to line up all 3 kids for an outing there.....one day :!:

                        Righto Glen, How about out Colo way.
                        I've not been there since I used ride my bike out that way. If that's not suitable then I'll be led by whatever you suggest.
