Well the report starts with Sefo leading us down an extremely narrow track (amusing to me and bobby as our car is already covered in scratches and dints) Had everyone (except us) in near tears with the damage.

We then found a muddy track, managed to get everyone thru with no problems, even though we were sure someone would need a hand as there were a couple standard cars there, but Prados been totally awesome didnt need help and managed to get thru fine.

We then went thru a couple other tracks, one leading to a dead end so we had to turn all 13 cars around....

It turned out to be a good day! Cant wait to get up there again with a planned route this time!!

I didnt get any photos worth putting up, I left that for the photographers!

There's going to be limited photos due to the big group. Stopping and starting all the time at each bog hole or mud patch would have been a nightmare.

There were 13 cars and they were pretty spaced out too, especially when you'd have to wait at each corner for the vehicle behind you to see your turn. At times it was 10 to 15 mintues between the 1st and last car.
        ...........Heaps of cool stuff

Patience guys... I have an hour of video to bring down to a few mins. Getting there. Have to get Gav's shots off him too.

BPC, turned out sweet - just wait till you see the vid - shows up the scratches nicely..

I think it was longer then that, as remember after the 1st track we were 4th, we stopped for a good 10 minutes to get the log that was jammed in our tail shaft out, then got to the end and waited for at least half hour before "scratchless" came out the bushes

I'm hanging for the next trip, hopefully we dont have such a big turn out next time as we had a few too many cars there for my liking.

thats not the team spirit the more the better thats the aim of a gathering for the strong to help the weak and learning.
its a bit rough to put a limit on who can go.
l had a great time and it was great to see so many proud prado owners who can prove that the parado can go anywhere..........

                  Sefo,

It was only supposed to be 50mm lift but the old springs had compressed quite a bit with all the weight, so it ended up 65mm higher. 50mm is the highest they say to go without putting CVs at risk.

I did the lift two years ago but only travelled 25000kms. I haven't had any problems with the lift.

                  Cheers

I'm not saying that it wasnt any good. It was just hard to mingle with so many people there is all I am saying.
And not being able to get shots of everyone because most of the time we didnt see the people at the back of the pack.

I also agree that it was pretty hard with so many vehicles. If we had of been on slower tracks, ie bog hole after bog hole, maybe we would of been able to take more photos and also talk to others

In the future if we are expecting a large group, maybe you should seperate into two groups, but still organise to meet up at lunch.

Yeah I also found it hard to have a chat to everyone being such a big group, i
I'd also say, yeah invite everyone but then spilt into more manageable groups.
I asked Brendan along and I didn't even see him 4wding as he was at the rear. Then that Nissan got the lead - you hate those Nissans don't you Bianca!!

Hey Adrian, I think my problem is that when it did my lift the dude didn't allow for the extra gear I was gunna put on. I think I will change the springs

Uploading the vid tonight. Photos will be some time later. Gav can't get his to me tonight as he's out watching the soceroos play, lucky bugga.

Yeah, the big group made it a bit hard but it could still work if we had lunch somewhere that had a big open space - and if we try to get a set amount of time for lunch so people can meet each other better, that would help too. Possibly a tech day - or even go somewhere and teach people how to use winches or something. I've done plenty of recoveries but none with winches so I'd like to know how to do a double or triple line pull etc.

Actually I lie, I've done one with a handwinch and one with a portable electric - but neither were done properly or with a hint of safety involved  And nothing with double lines or snatch blocks etc.
                              Cheers - Phil Taylor
