Glen_ep, now that looks like fun day out! Good effort from the 90 series and excellent flex on the Patrol.

We are going to explore the the South Coast hinterland with the Land Cruiser Club and will be back on Monday. If we don't don't break anything over the weekend, we're in.

Should be OK provided the river is at average height 8)

Check a trip we did here last year

I've only been there once - that was with you on my very first PP outing. If somebody more familiar with the area put there hands up, it will be better.

My video shows the river in flood conditions, in THAT case you'd be mad to cross without a snorkel. I haven't been there in normal conditions but judging by the old photos it looks a breeze...

                      May 2010:
                      http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww32 ... 510004.jpg

Post-flood in Dec 2010 (same crossing, opposite side):
                      http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a246/ ... River3.jpg

It was higher, faster, and the massive boulders on the side were scattered throughout the driving path. It was a slow struggle to walk across.

I can't wait for this hot weather to pass.. so we can get back out on another drive!

Forecast for this Sunday 6th in Lithgow is 29 with showers... could be a good day for Zig Zag (Newnes State Forest). Preferribly if the rain comes early ;-)

We did some fantastic 4wd-ing in the Abercrombie River NP this weekend with the Land Cruiser club. I'm thinking of leading a trip there when my calender opens up a bit. Anybody interested? We can start at Mt Victoria and take the back roads and scenic drive via Jenolan caves . There are enough steep inclines and ruts to gets any PP members pulse going
