    Hi Steve,
I recon the 4.0 V6 will leave the 90 diesel for dead on the sand 8)

Even in stock form it would be okay for some light stuff at Newnes  , I haven't cracked any wishbones yet with my stock suspension.

    Cheers,
    Declan.

hey steve you won't have any problems at stockton with a standard v6 with grandtreks . i went there for my first expedition .no lift no nothing . let the grandtreks down to 18-20 psi and go for it . there shouldnt be a hill that will stop you .none of them stopped mine but they stopped a few other tricked up vehicles . and dont let newnes stop you either it didn't worry mine . whoooo hang on . sorry , yeah your gonna need every bit of help you can get ,if you can bolt it on you'll need it, tyres , lift , uhf, bullbar lots of roos at stockton and newnes ,lights , winch etc etc

Speaking of which, if anyone would like to camp that weekend (10-14th) there's plenty space where we're heading - on the Turon River, Hill End. There's some water crossings and plenty tracks from soft roading to 4x4 demolition
That might be fun. Who are you going with? I might go if any other PPs show interest.
Not "might"... it WILL be fun

It's mostly friends, some family. We have:
        Prado 120 - stock
        Prado 90 - mine
Pajero - stock, from the Lidsdale trip earlier this year
Patrol GU - the 6", 35" monster from the Newnes trip 2 weeks ago
        Patrol GU - stock
        Hilux 2WD - hehehe, 2WD?!?

Judging by that list it'll be pretty tame except for one show off ;-)

Sounds good Declan, we can come in through the northside from Capertee & spend the day there, plenty of tracks & river crossings to explore

Anyone else want to come along :?:

It's north of Sunny Corner up near Capertee. I think it used to be a private property but National Parks control it now.

I won't be able to make it along tomorrow Glenn but was hoping for a trip next weekend if anyone is available. Was going to suggest a trip to check out Turon, but you'd probably want a trip elsewhere seeing as you're heading there tomorrow. Anyway, let us know if you're keen for next weekend and we can sort something out.

On another note, there was an article in the local paper here stating that Conservation Volunteers are going to be closing down a number of "illegal" 4WD tracks in the southern section Newnes SF, apparently to protect some swamps from nasty 4WDers. It will be interesting to see what tracks they close off...

Next weekend will be a go Jeff, I volunteer you to be trip leader 8)

                                Name your destination :!:

Leigh & Lorrae & family will be free also for that trip.

What are "Conservation Volunteers" I would have thought State Forests have jurisdiction in their areas.
