DESTINATION: Wobat State Forest and Surrounds

DATE: Saturday, 13th November Day Trip

MEETING: 8:00 AM Bacchus Marsh McDonalds Car Park, 15 Gisborne Rd, Bacchus Marsh VIC 3340 (near corner of Gisbone Rd and Bennett Street)

GRADE: Easy - Medium

VECHICLE LIMITS MAXIMUM 8

EQUIPMENT: Basic Recovery Equipment- at least front and rear recovery points.

RADIO UHF: 16

TRIP ACTIVITY DETAILS

Planning a day trip around Wombat State Forest area. Basically will try to keep to easy/medium stuff. BYO lunch, camera and sense of humor.

STATEMENT ON ASSUMPTION OF RISK & Waiver

The main purpose for the existence of Pradopoint is for its members "to explore, maintain, preserve and enjoy, with our fellow Pradopoint members the inaccessible portions of our region and Australia in general through responsible off-roading;" and "to modify and improve our Toyota Prado’s through formal and informal tech. days.

In keeping with these goals, individual members often organize off-road excursions (Get Togethers) and tech days (during which members modify one another's Prado’s). These activities carry with them an inherent risk of damage to vehicles, property, or other equipment, and even a risk of personal injury.

It is Pradopoint’s position that - whether through driver error, rough terrain, tight spaces, inclement weather, gravity, faulty equipment, vehicular limits, water, mud, sand, rocks, trees, underbrush, or Act of God – accidents happen.

Since membership of Pradopoint is voluntary, as is every Get Together or Tech Day, Pradopoint or any of its members, do not in any way assume liability for damage incurred during any Pradopoint event. Basically, Pradopoint is simply an enabler - allowing like-minded and free-willed adults the opportunity to pursue this pastime together.

While individual members may offer advice, or be consulted as an "authority" on some subject, the final decision always falls upon you. An individual member shall be held liable for work done or advice given only if it is in the capacity of a paid, certified mechanic; no good faith advice (on the trail or otherwise) or work on a vehicle by any member not presenting themselves as an automotive professional should be held liable for quality or accuracy. You get what you pay for, and free advice - or having someone put on a lift for a case of beer - is worth exactly that. That being said, any member acting in a dangerous or negligent manner will be asked to leave an event if the majority of the members at the event request it. An individual member may also be held liable for damage incurred due to blatantly dangerous or negligent actions by said members.

With respect to recovery on the trail: vehicles, drivers and equipment involved in recovery operations on the trail are put under extreme stresses, and they can break. If you are unfortunate enough to require a recovery, you are presented with two options: leave the rig where it is and call a professional, or ask for help from a fellow Pradopoint member. As with the above paragraph, no member making a good faith effort to recover another's vehicle shall be held liable for damage incurred during said recovery.

This Pradopoint Statement on Liability should be read, overall, to mean the following: everything that Pradopoint members do is voluntary; the members are all free-willed, presumably intelligent adults; off-roading, performing work or maintenance on a vehicle, and vehicle recovery are all inherently dangerous activities, during any of which - at any time - damage or injury can easily occur. You participate at your own risk. If you break it, you pay for it. It's that simple.

Be sure to check with your insurance company if they will cover damage incurred off road - not all do!

IF YOU DON'T AGREE WITH THIS POLICY, DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN PRADOPOINT EVENTS. Wheel safely, have fun, and don't blame PradoPoint or any other member if you slide sideways into a tree.

Hi longdog,

The route is open question at this stage due to weather. Some easy tracks in dry could be hard to extreme in wet, so we'll see how the weather is going
over next 2 weeks. If you have any suggestions on good tracks to go on please let me know, will see if we can incorporate them into the trip.

You should be fine Wazza, this trip while should be fun for those with experience, it would be a good trip for those with little or no experience.

Hi guys just letting you know this is my new pp account tried to log on with my iphone and stuffed up my password. Tried to reset password for my wazza78 account but wouldnt work grrr. I also dont have a uhf well i have a real little uniden one not even shore its watts . Its really the kids haha .Its a uho36 cant even find it on the uniden web site

Handheld UHF should be OK. To fix your original account just pm one of the mods (try Team Piggy, Mav or Samo), they should be able to fix it for you.

good luck just got back from a day out in wombat and very dissapointed that most if not all of the seasonal tracks are still closed.
if its mud and fun leardy is good or matteys trk and swaggers trk are not bad have fun

Yeah, had a chat with DSE office at Daylesford today, apparently whey just didn't get around to open the seasonal closed tracks. Will call
them in a few days for update... Still plenty of tracks to go on...

I got excited about joining you until I worked out it is over 200k from Echuca where we will be around that date. Enjoy guys.
I am having a ball going up the Murray. Currently at Mildura - great town - and moving to Swan Hill tomorrow (Tuesday). Heading for Wangaratta then over the hills via Bright to the Vic coast then NSW South Coast.
Onl 3 months travelling after the GTG not 6 months like last time.
Once again enjoy.
