I'm definitely envious about Mt Walker! I think the Boomslang team was so happy that they stopped at every bottle shop on the way home! Take note - it's hard to get a decent feed or drinks at 8-9pm on Australia Day!
I can't believe how easy Mt Walker looks in Glenn's video, particularly at the 20-30 second mark. It was MUCH steeper than what the video illustrates.
Anyway thanks everyone for joining in. It was a great day's driving and I can't wait to do more.

Glen, As you noticed along the way home, we did stop at every bottle shop but I think we left it too late - all closed. "All revved up and nowhere to go" Had to go to bed thirsty. Bad planning.
I must agree with you, it looked very easy and calm on the video, but I can assure the adrenalin was flowing inside the cabin.

I bet! Mate I saw the climb firsthand - hard, but done well. That last big step had me concerned when your entire vehicle jumped up in the air  Just the right amount of momentum kept it going.
I'm surprised even Dan Murphies was closed in Richmond - you should have taken my offer from the esky ;-)
Yes that was great drive up Mt Walker Piet The trick is to have just the right amount of momentum which you did to perfection 8) The video doesn't do it justice as Glen said; it is extremely steep, very difficult to even walk up it

Glenn

If you're interested in historical stuff about early Australia like I am, then you may be interested in this link regarding some fascinating history of the area we recently traversed:
Unfortunately the link to the artist's impression of the Mt Walker stockade is a dud but you can certainly check out the other links which are well worth the read
Thanks to Princess for reminding me of this stuff

I assume that that is Mt Walker in the background, it would just be a matter of working out which bend in the river that is in the painting, then you may be able to tell where the painting was painted from.
I have a vague memory that this was shown in the 4WD Action DVD when Roothy went there.
