And here is the photo of the clearance of the bashplate to the diff. About a bee's whisker, or less than a mm.

I also measured the clearance of the bashplate and I got 250mm. This is with the suspension settings on normal height (Grande), 40mm lift at the front & rear and 265/70R17 Wrangler MTRs with 40psi in them. I then ran out of time to measure the factory bashplate.

I am now standardising the front plate so that it is common between the diesel, V6 and whether you wish to have a diff drop installed or not. The photo below with the <1mm clearance between the diff and the bashplate is the new standard plate. I am making cutouts to cater for the transmission cooler line brackets. This means that the ground clearance is the same for all Prado variants. The only variant now is the rear plate which needs to be longer for the diesels.

Hey AMTS, have you had a chance to measure the clearance of the OEM Plate? Will this be any different with a 1KZ Manual? ie will there be an improvement to clearance/no gain/ or will there be less ground clearance?

If all is well with prototype Mk2, I'll get it finished (i.e. zinc plated and powder coated) and it's yours.

Squeaky? Squeaky? My girlfriend reckons she knows you intimately. Apparently I use your name and words involving S@x too frequently at the same time lololo. Just kidding, I think your efforts are outstanding to be honest the banter has been enjoyable. Once I get my plates I will have to pretend to need wheel spacers, so I don't get withdrawals.

I'm even thinking of changing priorities now to get in on the first order! The toyo plate is 1.2mm thick. AMTS plates are 3mm. The difference in strength is phenomenal...
