    • Nickchap and Switched popped over for the prototype fitout and there's good news and then there's bad news (MLC won't be happy).

The good news is that the front plate fits perfectly to both Prados.

The bad news is the rear plate is too short. For some unknown reason, the distance between the cross members at the tranny is further apart on the diesels than on the V6. I will need to double check a manual diesel (1KZ and D4D) to see if they too have the larger distance between the cross members.

It's a very simple design tweak to make the rear plate longer.

Here are photos of the bashplates attached to switched's rig with the ARB deluxe bar.

      • Ho hum,
Fix it a week ago amts or I am filing the divorce papers.
Now I know what a CAD drawing is: "Can't Accomodate a Diesel!"

        • Who would have known that Toyota would make a different chassis between the V6 and diesels ?? I'd like to know why they did it? Maybe MickL will know?

            • Your towing loops should be the same as switched where it is welded through the chassis. Mine and in older models, the towing loop is welded below the chassis.

                • Sorry, somehow I thought that yours was a newer model. Must be all the nice stuff you're putting on it that makes it 'newer'

                    • amts, have you played with that rear plate so it grows? 0.0 oh dear, that sounds wrong. I mean played with the design.

                      • Might drive by Hindley St tonight. That will fix the shortage problem.
As for the design fix, it's a quickie 2min job.

                        • are you able to make a bash plate with the air flow holes in the front section of the bash plate? pretty keen for one but would rather the one with the air holes to cool the under side of the motor and diff.

                          • Yeomada, the plates shown in the post a page back is of the prototype without the holes. The final plates will have holes for ventilation as per the first post.
