          • Andrew, just an update on my light pole that i fitted.

Although the bunnings pole is really good the pins that you push in to release the pole don't like the elements of being strapped to the back of a car. Today i noticed that one of the pins had rusted and the head had broken off and it had dislodged and nearly let go completely. So this needed nipping in the bud straight away and i think it is something you/and/or the buyers should consider upgrading as this is the weakest part of the hole setup.

The small screws that also hold the 'head' on so to speak are weak and should be changed with small stainless bolts.

Here's a couple of pictures of the rusted pin and what i did to ensure its longevity.

I only require the spacer and not the light mount as I'm happy with my current portable light setup

Sigh, can't have everything. Mine has started to rust at the pins too but it hasn't let go.
Been designing a pole from scratch too.

                    • Hey Amts,
Just upgraded from a 120 to a 150 and was wondering wether the old 120 spacers will fit the 150 or i need to buy new ones?

                      Cheers, Mick

                      • The old spacers won't fit the 150. I am doing a trade in referral programme for those who are after the old type spacers. I just put the 2 parties in touch.

                          • Well finally had the time to fit my spacer this afternoon. All went well. The hardest part of the job was washing the spare carrier bracket and the car. Andrew next time i expect a car wash to be supplied in the box as well
2006 GXL D4D, Gun Metal Grey, Soverign Bull Bar, Uniden UH400SX-RM CB. Rock slider steps from WASP, 2" Lift Bilsteins with King Springs, Cooper ST Maxx 265/70/17's and a Safari Snorkel. My Wife's future shopping list includes in order a Winch (Most likely a Tigerz), Bash Plates, Rear Bar, Dual Battery setup and a 60l Fridge. And the list gets longer each time we talk about the car.

The spacer should now help in preventing the buildup of leaves and dust behind the tyre carrier.

                              • Received a small batch of replacement poles for the fibreglass part of the Bunnings paint pole. Made from ally tube, 3mm wall and anodised black. There is a predrilled hole to accept the cordgrip at the bottom and another 2 holes needed to accept the spring loaded part from the original Bunnings paint pole. Cost is $25.
