    Thanks Daniel.

Only just managed to get more work done on the combo bracket yesterday. The gap between the bracket to one of the outlet ports is 22-25mm. I think this should be OK for a plug to be installed.

Looks great amts. Definitely looking forward to the finished product. My compressor has had a long stay in the shed waiting to get mounted in the Prado!

          • Got back from Sydney late Wednesday night after a very tiring four day trip. Pick up the Prado wanting only to get home to discover I had a flat front right tyre. No worries just pump it up.....noooooooo compressor at home in the shed grrrrrr. Change the tyre and finally made it home after 8.30 pm.

What made it worse the next morning I cleaned it up, removed all stones and couldn't find a leak. Two days later, tyre pressure the same.

Andrew any more news on the bracket?

            • Joshy, Hazza,

Yeah, sorry, it's taking a while. Been very busy in my real life with guests bunking in and showing them the best that Adelaide has to offer. Doesn't help with all the rain but it's better than being in a drought from many years back.

Order is in for the next prototype which has the cutouts to avoid the wiring loom and additional holes for adjustment as I'm sick of taking the compressor in and out of the bracket now that I need some extra holes in the bracket.

              • Got hold of a TJM compressor off photoprado. After a bit of work, this is what it might end up looking like.

                • Placed the paper prototype into the engine bay and the TJM compressor with the air filter is too long. So I visited the local air fitting place and got some elbow fittings to relocate the air filter away from the compressor. The elbow coming off the compressor will hopefully reduce the overall length. For anyone interested, here are the parts. The couplers are of the quick connect fitting that takes 8mm tube.

                  1. No.25E 1/4x1/4 1/4 x 1/4" M&F Extruded Elbow
                  2. CDCPC08-02 CDC 8mm x 1.4" BSP Straight Connector
                  3. CDCPCF08-02 CDC 8mm x 1/4" BSP Female Straight Connector
                  4. NT-8 8mm Nylon Tube

Item 1 connects to the compressor's air filter port
Item 2 screws into item 1
Items 2 and 3 are connected via the tube (Item 4)
The Air filter cartridge screws into Item 3

                  • Andrew,

How are you travelling with the combo bracket? Have you allowed more room for the filter and wiring loom?

Love to give you a hand but distance is bit of a problem lol

                    • I'm waiting for the fabricator to complete the combo bracket that has extra allowance for the filter.

While waiting I started drawing up the TJM compressor and investigating mounting solutions.

The blank plug will fit in there, no worries. You can just cut off those compressor mounting bolts, anyway. When I fit one of these, that's what I will be doing.
On the inlet you would run a 90 degree barb and a straight barb on the outlet.
I have been telling people about this project, and I know Snaga is waiting on one. There are a few people actually.
The big business, in my opinion, will be selling them to ARB, or TJM, if you to design one for their compressor.
This bracket will kill both problems. Patents come to mind, Andrew.
I know it's already got some patents, wink, wink.
I have now run the TJM compressor up in that position, and it runs fine.
                          Catch you later, John.
Thanks John for your input. The current prototype for the ARB compressor is now at the welder. ETC is Thursday. Then it will go off to ACT to test fit on a Kakadu. If all is good, the next batch run will start. Not long to go now.

I have also checked with TJM and their compressor is fine to be used vertically.

                          • I have a couple different VIAir compressors in the WHouse AMTS.
VIAir will fit in same spot as ARB/Tjm. Might be worth you having a look at.
I won't run the generic ARB etc again, seen too many failures on them now.

Cheaper than ARB too and good for 200PSI.

Nice. I'll be in touch for some part numbers. I still like my ARB one though. Nice and small.
