TRD Performance Chip 120 D4D (genuine)

1. ITEM: Genuine Toyota Performance Chip made by Toyota Racing development in Germany especially for the 120 D4D Hilux and Prado. Has been installed for the last few years and gives a substantial boost to performance, trouble free. (see my post on this chip in the 120 series diesel engine topic). Direct plug and play into the CPU and injector plugs. No wires to cut or splicing needed at all - all genuine plugs and impossible to get wrong. Comes with genuine switch for on or off mode on the run.

So what sort of performance gain does it get you ? Power, Torque or fuel economy difference from stock. Did you get anything done to the exhaust for it ?

Toyota Motor Sport quoted 150KW and 510nm torque when I purchased in 2008. Dyno I did at the rear wheels after purchase was 108Kw (at the rear wheels, with intercooler fan on). Scanguage over the last 12 months shown average of 8.7-9.6L/100kms for highway and city driving.

I wouldn't think so, don't the 150's have a 32bit chip in them whereas the 120's only have a 16bit system ?

Those are good figures DocK.

I'm guessing this includes the use of the intercooler fan, exhaust upgrade, and gas injection? Do you have numbers for chip only?

All measured at the rear wheels by MTQ Diesel Systems, the first dyno is before the chip was installed and the second after with all enhanced features.

In summary:

1. Baseline 82kw no enhancements
2. LPG on 97.4 kW
3. TRD chip (no LPG ). 103kw
4. TRD on and inter cooler fan on 108kw
5. LPG + TRD+ fan on 115kw
