No they won't fit over the brake. U'll need to go back to around a +10.

You can get steel in a +10 in a 17inch but the8r is only around 1mm clearance from the brake caliper.
A +15 would be fine no way would you want...

Exploding sunroof kakadu
The missis was on the highway today doing around 100km/h and the sunroof exploded .
there were no cars coming towards her and the roof rack nearly...

I have the pedders over bilstein lift with the standard uca's with the +6 I can fit my hand between the tyre and UCA so it clears it fine. Not sure how...

If you stick with a 17' it should be fine it will be the offset to keep in mind when choosing a set. Any where from a 0 to +12 should be fine to fit 285...

Yep there a +6. I got them of tire rack from the states. Turned up at my door in 7 days. For $600 less including shipping then I could get them here.

after a lot of stuffing around with offsets and Mt tire options in 18' I went back to a 17x8.5 wheel with the km2's 285 70 17.
and no rubbing....

Mate you might have a drama going back to a 17 on the kakadu. The hilux rims are a +30 offset. I fitted 17s with a 0 and they just cleard the front brakes....
