Re: Home made drawers under $110. Basic measurments added
Well I have finally gotten around to posting some pics of the draw setup. As I mentioned before i think these would come in around to $900 mark. Having said that, I had none of the materials at all and even had to buy some tools so I guess this cost could be expected.
Can't take all the credit for these though...
Big thanks to you guys here for the hints and to Chippy for posting those plans ...
Also a big thanks to my mate who helped me build these... (there were some late nights !!)
Pictures tell a thousand words. Hope the links work correctly.
** Mods, PM me if there are too many photo's and I'll edit the post - or just remove if needed. Tried to keep the size small.
** Early stages of the build... Ended up using liquid nails to glue all the carpets on. If you put a good bead around the very edges and then cris-cross the middle area's it works incredibly well. I tried the carpet glue's and they really were just annoying. (Applying glue, then waiting for it to go tacky etc). With the liquid nails it was just apply, fit carpet and put downward pressure on the "gluing" parts for 10 min's. Used heavy weights (Anything heavy) and tie down straps pulled tight around the edges for the tricky thin edge area's. (i.e... the edge of the table shown below. Liquid nail bead round the edge, apply carpet and Used a tie down strap right round the edge of the table to clamp it down for 10 mins.)
I may as well add these shots of the Trek Table Clone I made up. Its not really on topic for the draw thread, however, in practice this table just goes so well with the whole draw setup. I have no idea why anyone would get draws and not a table as well. A table is truly one of the best mods you could possibly do and also cheapest !
Thanks for looking.
