Scanguage installed and it appears to be working .
So you can add the 20o7 D4D to the list of compatible vehicles.

Now all I need to do is learn to drive it.

      Pedro,
Does the SGII show boost/maifold pressure on the D4D ?

        Peter,
There is a gauge reading of MAP which the book tells me is "Manifold Absolute Pressure".

Is that what you are after.

I have seen it come up without knowing what it means, but will double check in the morning.

          Pedro,
The engine ECM must be monitoring boost to control the variable turbo, so MAP must be what it is using.
          Thanks

            Peter,
            Give Dave a ring (0413-138-550
) just to confirm but MAP works and reading changed as I drove.

              Pedro,

Does it cycle through positive and negative values? (as this is what manifold pressure does in a turbo vehicle, positive while accelerating under boost, negative while decelerating.)

Just spoke with Dave re: the scangauge 2. I called him on his mobile yesterday (saturday), missed him and he called me back today.

Now that is service. Just ordered one over the phone at pradopoint price. He is out of them at the moment but will send it when they come in.

Even though I also have a 07 D4D and Pedro's works, he offered me 30 days just in case. Seems that it works on some and not others............

                Will let you know.

                Regards,

                Rob

Drew , sorry this may not answer your question but the readings i got were from say 85 to 115 depending on my right foot.

Didn't notice whether reading showed a negative but think they were all positive.

Agree about the service Dark Horse. I have rung a few times and Dave has always been most helpful;.

One thing I did notice today on trip to Ballina the speed on scanguage was down about 5kmh on toyota guage.
Went through one of those traffic indicators and the toyota speed was spot on.

Well I just got off the Phone with Dave from Wooders and the scangauge is in the mail.. He's a top bloke and very keen to provide help and guidance. Can't wait till it arrives and I can get it in the truck.

I know the GXL is a midrange product, but it's silly they don't have a toyota trip computer as standard !!

Price is $215 delivered.. for PradoPoint members.

I will post a write up, it's in and I get a handle on using it.

                    Cheers,
                    Matt 8)

I absolutely agree with you Matt, trip computers are not a new thing these days and should be a standard item in all models imo.

If a after market one can be added for just over A$200 then incorporating one as a standard item should be well and truely doable.

It is not even a standard item on the VX.

Pedro or other D4D owners, which fuel type did you use? Diesel a or Diesel b ?

They give different overall figures, I think b gives me a higher flow at idle, so not to sure. I followed the instructions in the book and both followed the procedure.

I agree a trip computer should have been standard as well as a exceeding speed limit warning chime, would have saved me $150

                      Regards,

I was unsure what DarkHorse was talking about so I contacted him by pm.

The manual, which is a little booklet, advises to use Diesel a or Diesel b , and do not refer to different types of diesel.
Rather they affect the way fuel consumption is computed and are selected based on the way the vehicle computer reports its sensor information.

It goes on to say that most diesel vehicles use the Diesel a setting, but gives a method to determine which your vehicle uses.

I checked what mine was set on and it is on Diesel b .
When I entered it I thought it was just referring to Diesel and did not see the magic"b" , so I will be checking in the morning what the correct type should be.

The booklet (manual ) is in small print and I found it difficult to read.

Following a lead from PeteS before he left on his trip I came across the manual in PDF format.
                        http://www.scangauge.com/support/pdfs/SGIIManual.pdf

The info on Diesel a and Diesel b is on page 15 of the PDF file.

Thanks for raising this query dark horse at least I learnt a bit more about the scangauge.

Did the test this morning and it is Diesel a that my setting should be on.

Just had a look at the wooders site and it says "Easy Installation - no Tools Required!" Now I ask you, is this true and how hard is it to install ie. how long did it take? Or more importantly how long would it take for an untrained monkey to do this?
