The driving load is 100 kg but that should include the wieght of the rack and/or rails and cross bars, so that normally brings it down to around 80kg. This should be in your owners book if you still have it.White 2013 GXL 79 series dual cab, ARB GVM Upgrade, ARB Delux winch bar and scrub bars, GME TX3440 and much more to come

Re: roof top tent weight
I got an ARB style one on mine and it is fantastic. From memory the loadings are to cover the load at 130km/h so parked static the loading is not a problem

I already have 2 heavy duty rhino bars on my factory fitted rails.
Should I go to 3 bars, or will 2 be sufficient.

Re: roof top tent weight
Chas0304 Thanks for your reply and info on your roof top weights, very much appreciated.
bitdist... Yes used it this weekend.
very pleased with it, and extremely easy and fast to set up.
While it is dearer than all the other ones. the extra quality is definately worth it IMHO. As i looked into ALL the other brands in detail.
I have mine opening on the drivers side of the vehicle, the reason being that if you have it on Rhino bars and opening to the rear, then the rear door will impede
the ladder or visa versa, ( beacause of the Prado's large rear door )
To over come this problem and to have it opening to the rear you would have to purchase from hanibal their roof top tray that accomodates it.
For me the extra price ( around $1500.00 i think ) was not worth it, even though it is of high grade aluminium and excellent construction.
You could always manufacture something to suit if you were handy enough.
I can PM you some Hanibal quality photo's of the rack set uo if you wish.
Oh ,, and one last thing. Give plenty of thought of how you are going to get it on the roof ..... It's not that easy. you would need 4 people to get it up there.
I have set up a pully system in my garage on hoist it up and then my wife reverses under it, i then just lower it down.
Im lucky in that i have plenty over over head height to be able to do that.
