What's your thoughts? They look good ay!

I can say that the picture in your link IS a bar for a 120 series despite my earlier comments. It does NOT wrap around to the wheel araches, but it is the next best option. I am confused as to why Powerful 4x4 use that picture because its is EXACTRLY the same as my MCC bar. (More picks on my build up.)

If you can rotate the light on the pole, then it is a non-issue.

        Rob,

You are correct, but with how i set up 90%, i am too the right of the car so i will mostly use it with the wheel carrier open. However in the instances i want light straight out the back, that's what the 2 LED spots in the bar will provide. I will have all the lights switched individually so I can decide which one I want on and when. I will wire it so it can also work when I put the car in reverse.

The light pole won't be a swivel head i don't think at this stage.

Ok good idea te a manual option to switch on the reverse lights. I am setting the lights up on Saturday do will consider that too

MLC, have you given this rear bar a workout yet?

Any niggles in the month or so since you had it installed? I'm still thinking about this, but the ability to carry two spares without one on the roof is slowly winning me over, and this one looks like the pick of the non-Kaymar options.

Just one niggle. The black rim they supply is not really adequate and while the guys that installed it did a great job their substitute trim needs some revision too. The guys at total traction are checking out some other options which is great. I did point out that one face cannot be glued down as it must be able to move when the bar torques (as it will). This is the reason their replacement version 1 was not 100% successful. Other than this minor issue I am still very happy.

Well, that rear bar you have MLC...

                Is now a collectors item.

Apparently there has been a lot of confusion regarding the compatibility with the Toyota towbar, so a small redesign has been made that will allow it to work with both the Tojo bar and the Hayman:

I've ordered one. Sick of dragging the second spare up onto the roofrack, and it's such a lump up there anyway...

Well, just got back from the snow, due to leave for the Outback trip on Thursday. Rang to confirm arrangements to get the missing second wheel carrier installed tomorrow or Wednesday. No Go: It STILL hasn't turned up.

We're now in the 8th week since I ordered the MCC bar, so I'm pissed. The hardware is good but the service and stock is just plain lousy. No other word for it. Hate to say it, but I should have just sucked it up and ordered the Kamar.

Grrr. What a waste of time.

If you're thinking of ordering MCC, don't part with your cash until you see the goods.

Well, I have to take my hat off to you Rob, and to Darren at Total Traction Tyres.

What happened yesterday behind the scenes was that Darren went to work to supply above and beyond customer service of the highest order. He rang Rob late yesterday and begged his passenger side carrier off him. On top of that, he drove into town this morning, removed the carrier from the MLC machine (in the car park!), took it back to Lonsdale and fitted it up to our vehicle this afternoon.

MCC have a valid explanation: They have a container sitting at the docks delayed and waiting for customs clearance. If things had gone to plan the carrier would have easily been on time, but things have been taken out of their hands.

Couldn't be happier and I am indebted to both Rob and Darren for their generosity and service in getting us out of this bind. Thank you both!

Any SA PP'ers looking for tyres or 4WD gear, get down and see Total Traction, When the chips are down, Darren supplies great service and deserves support.

                          Michael

My pleasure mate. Today was funny as Darren crawled his Cruiser through the car park, all 7 levels. For a while I hung off the LHS so the brackets scraped lightly on the steel beams. He decided to let his 33's or 35's (the are trucken big and his 6 inch lift) down to around 15PSI.

For the record PhotoPrado was very gracious and offered the customary slab, but given I'm a fat bastard he got off that too

Must admit its a good feeling being able to help out and as can already be seen on this forum its not the first time PPers have helped other PPers. I think the rule is simple, just pay it on when you get the opportunity and we will all be better off.

Truth is, this was my opportunity to pay it on, having been the benefactor of Matt's (Matty & Loz) time and experience.

Enjoy your trip Michael and we want photos!

Finally, Darren down at Total Traction Tyres is a top fella and goes above and beyond regularly. I would describe him as charging an honest dollar for an honest piece of work, no corner cutting or shit work. It was my pleasure to help him out too. (although I still reckon he owes me a Total Traction tyres offset Hawse for all the free advertising I do for him. PS they sell a shit load more than just tyres!!
