Thanks Samo, that rattle is on borrowed time!

The wife has phenomenal hearing and has tracked the noise to the same area but I can't convince her to ride on the sidesteps whilst I traverse some rough roads to confirm its in the guard area. What could possibly go wrong .......

What do you think was the cause of the crack in yours ?? Have seen the spot welds near the headlights come apart on the 120's on the passengers side but not a crack like yours. great you found it........Cheers Steve
Have had the same for a long time now, and nearly smashed it today with the elbow. Have packed areas between plastic slides and lid etc to take out slack, but the cracking sound (plastic against plastic) can't be removed. Next step, toss the lid out window.

LOL I know where your coming from John. We now just sit a pillow over it then lean on that, shuts it up so doesnt bother me then lol, thing doesnt do it but with just my arm on it ??. Amazing how some thing so minor can bug the shit of you. Same one day when I fixed the aircon issue with the 120's and I placed a couple of washes on the leather cover down beside the lever for high and low range, I forgot about them and when just crusing along the most smallest rough road was causing the two washers to vibrate against each other but I didnt see them as they were buried in the crease of the leather. Man was it drivng me nuts. Wasnt till my wife noticed some thing shiney when she got in the passengers side did I then work out what it was, bloody thing lol Cheers Steve

I did that with the centre console! Bought some foam tape really thick as it thins out over time. It's hard to close to start with but after wearing in its now perfect with no noise woo hoo

what i ment wayt2go was use some liquid nails to glue the sunroof shut so it fixes the rattle, (lame attempt of humor).

Well on another rattle fixing mission i fixed the centre console lid, was a very cheap fix cost me $2.50 from the cheap shop for some self adhesive felt and it worked a treat, doesnt require hardly any pressure for the lid to close, if only all rattles were this easy to fix heres a few pics. cheers samo

heres where i stuck the felt

Been plenty of forums on this issue, but my 120 has a shocking rattle/squeek from the rear door, especially when going slow which occurs climbing through the bush, funnily enough it disappears when the rear tyre is off, but figure I best not do without this accessory. Tried everything from removing jacks, tools, the rubber grommets that the door stops on, tyre spacers all to no avail. Get conditioned too it until my missus reminds me again. Bloody annoying.

Jeez Samo, that's goin to some lengths for a rattle. I just would have put on some Acca Dacca to disguise it.
                                Luv it. Great post
