Thankx. Lots of procrastinating to be done before deciding.

I've had an auto locker at the back for 6-8 months now and the car (Auto GXL) feels absolutely no different to what it did before...wet roads or not. The clicking isn't too loud either.

I think Auto lockers, although similar mechanisms are different from one another. There is a mob in Fremantle that makes something similar to 4wd systems lokka but from what i've heard...noisier (but perhaps stronger??) We do not own 1000hp vehicles that require bulletproof auto lockers. Mine's been working fine, Barry has had his for 3-4 years (and he does not baby sit his car).

People bagging auto lockers have never had one installed on their car before or if that did it was long time ago. I can vouch for 4wd systems lokka, their technical department (I fogot the bloke's name but we've rang him half way through the install and he spent 1hr on the phone talking us through) have been spot on too.

They carry a lifetime warranty on their product regardless whether you install it yourself or a workshop does it. .

Anyone in Perth is welcome to listen to the clicking, does not bother me....(my wife will say something from time to time but she complains about noisy AT tyres as well)

          +1
It's also about the relative ability of the mechanic/diy'er to correctly adjust the cam clearances as well. If you have an auto then a lunch box locker is ok. If you have a manual as I do then the only option is to fit a Detroit, and also the Detroit is almost silent in operation and a damn sight stronger.

          Cheers

What did you get front or rear, what price? I was quoted $150 more for front

            Steve J
Steve it cost $1,796 fitted. I only got the rear one at this stage. Will get the front when I can afford it. (and the Mrs settles down)

You got a good price Steve, I think 2k is an ok price. They should include new bearings & seals, but not always.

Well Got the Harrop E-Locker Fitted on Friday, & tested it out on Trip to Cobaw, Awsome bit of kit, got me places I'd never get to without, but I did get to test it's limitations too, I think I want a front one too now.
on the down side, after install, my UHF no longer works, not sure what the prob is yet.

                      Cheers,

Nearly went over wash out here, front locker would have saved me.

                            Steve,

Spot on, front locker and you wouldn't need to take the winch out
