  • Dash warning lights staying on

    Hi guys
just wondering if anyone has a solution to my problem, I have an intermittent issue with my ABS, TC, VSC lights staying on.
and occasionally my auto locks in Park, which I have to use the shift lock to fix.
I have checked all globes, fuses connections (that I can find) brake fluid levels, have disconnected battery to see if it resets, pushed brake pedal as hard as I can (as a mechanic suggested) . Brake rotors and discs all in good condition.
    Any ideas?

Have you checked your batteries condition and charge, you can get all sort of strange things happening if your battery or alternator is on the way out?

Also check fuses, ABS MTR, ABS, ECU-B, ECU-IG, 10A IGN, 10A IG1 No.2 & 7.5A STA for hair line cracks in the fuse element,

Had a similar problem, red handbrake warning and ABS lights both came on at same time after stopping for a feed at GRafton. Stopped engine and restarted and lights out for about 10 klms then on again. It continued all the way to north of BRisbane. Brakes were operating normally so disconnected ABS wiring in ABS unit, and front wheels ( where work had been done previously) then reconnected and have done over 2000 klms since and no more warnings.
CHecked owner manual and it suggested immediately stopping and ringing Toyota without an explanation. Power brakes still work if ABS don't operate, just lock up a wheel like non ABS vehicles do if under heavy braking.

My brake light does not come on with the other lights mentioned, when the ABS, TC and VSC lights come on there is no ABS braking,
will do as Leigh suggested and see if I can find the fault., if not a trip to the auto sparkie.

            Hi Stevo,
I had a similar problem whilst on a trip a few years back, checked all I could beside the road and continued my journey with the dash warming lights lit up like a xmas tree. Once back home had a good look over the vehicle spent about three hours before I found a rearwheel ABS sensor had been smashed by a rock and dislodged the wires at the plug into the sensor. Anyway did a bit of repair and reconnected the abs sensor wire and all fixed, thats was about five years ago.

the cars been in at the Auto Sparkie for 3 days, it looks like there is a faulty brake fluid pressure switch problem, waiting on part

finally got the car back from Auto Electrician found the fault to be a defective brake light switch, part cost $70.00 labour $430.00 !!!
Not at all happy, thought computer codes helped the Sparkies.

Jesus! Considering the brake light switch is a plug and play part

One day I fed 2 @ 6B&S single core cables through the fire wall on the driver’s side to the boot and I thought I was being careful not to damage anything, then started the car after the work was done to find my ABS, hand brake & engine lights were permanently on. The TC & VSC lights came on when I pressed the brake pedal for a couple of seconds. The cruise control didn’t work, nor did the speedo or odometer. The speedo only worked while the brake pedal was pressed. The cables I damaged were a green one & and a brown/white striped one. The thinnest of msg sender cables. Great spot to damage cables.
