  • Dig Options radio / Sat Nav unit

Hi all, I recently got hold of a dig options radio / sat nav player and hoped to upgrade to it from the factory installed radio CD player in my 2005 120 GXL. I had a look at the connections and it appears you can get a loom to convert the two Toyota plugs to an ISO socket. Does anyone know where I can get a suitable 16 pin look to connect the new radio to the ISO sockets?

      Hi,
Digoptions should have a loom converter. Mine came with the right one for my Prado.

      Cheers,
      Mal

Mine was worse than useless, never worked even remotely like it should have, glad to be rid of it.

              Cheers Andrew

Thanks Andrew. I currently have my tablet with Oziexplorer gaffa taped to my sunvisor. My stereo unit doesn't like the aux input anymore so can't play my Ipod. Just done another 4,000km trip with just myself to entertain. Going to have to come up with something to keep SWMBO occupied during the drive to the GTG.

I've repaired the auxiliary port before. Can't remember exactly but it was simple.

I bought a 6 stacker the same as in my Prado for $55 from the local wrecker to fit in my 79. That's a pretty cheap fix for your stereo if you could find a similar deal.

                    Cheers Andrew

There a few threads on these and you get what you pay for.
But in saying that mine has been very good and not had any of the issues other have raised.
I run the street navigation and ozi explorer with custom maps on mine. both work fine.
MP3 works fine, radio for me had good range. I do not use the ipod connectivity cable for playing songs but did use it to charge my phone.
It has never once locked up.
The only down side the display could be brighter in full sun but the trick is you have to go to the setting screen and adjust the brightness I found.
It takes a couple of seconds from going from Neutral/Park to reverse , for the display to bring up the reverse camera image. Which is fine, as you by the time you check you mirrors and do a physical head check the display is ready, anyone that throws it in reverse and just starts reversing immediately and not looking at their surrounds is a nob in my opinion.
I would have liked more regular maps updates but.
Overall i gave it a 7/10 based on the price.

                      Cheers

Hi guys, I did shop around to find a loom, but nothing I found was compatible. I went to the manufacturer in the end, and it works very well indeed. sat Nav, iPod, radio, blue tooth - everything. I went the whole hog and bought a reversing camera too. I just need to connect it up. I will try to find the positive and negative wires from the reverse light, but the diagram includes a trigger wire in the drivers console. What is the purpose of a trigger wire and where do you connect it too?

Had one for three years with no issues.... Apart from the screen in certain sunlight!
Maybe mine was put together on a Wednesday by someone in a good mood
