  • Intructions on Installing a Scangauge II in Prado 120

    Hi All

Does anyone know where there are instructions on PP on how to install a Scangauge II in a Prado 120? I've searched PP but can only find vehicle compatibility, setting and reviews. Is it difficult to install?

    Cheers

It's dead simple. Plug and play. Can PM you more details if you need.

You need to make sure your 120 has an OBD11 port, you will find that under the dash by your right knee.

Assuming you have that you just plug it in and it's working, obviously you need to mount it somewhere as well, my install is here http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...l=1#post254600

Early 120's aren't compatible, not sure on the petrols but diesel's with the 1KZ motor aren't. They also have what appears to be an OBD2 port but it's M-OBD.

If your vehicle is compatible - there's a socket (looks a bit like an old TV Scart socket) down by the drivers right knee, just up behind the front trim. Its a white socket, plug the Scangauge plug into that and turn ignition on. Simple as that.

The differentiating factor is in the gearbox. The gearboxes got upgraded throughout the years. It's easier to distinguish between the different gearboxes than build month and year.

Not in my experience. It needed to be calibrated to my vehicle. I still need to spend more time calibrating it as my L/100km are still out. They DO NOT tap into L/100km via ODBII. You need a gps app to monitor your km's travelled vs actual and calibrate it. Google it and there are instructions out there on how to do it. The manual does not tell you anything about this.
