Not sure if these symptoms will sound familiar to anyone, but worth a shot...
For the last 8 months or so, the car will make a very noticeable rattle when it's cold. Sounds worse if I put my foot down. No loss of power, just a really loud rattle. But, like clockwork, as soon as the temp gauge hits a certain point, it stops completely. No white smoke, the injectors (and their seals!) are good and the screen is clear.
I'm thinking that although the temp gauge is working, perhaps there is a sensor somewhere that regulates the mix when it's cold, and this sensor just isn't working properly. As soon as the engine is warm, it doesn't matter anymore so no more rattle.
Any thoughts?
