Hey, SWMBO works for Ozzie Post. On the retail side admittedly. I got stuff from Adelaide in under 2 days recently. The problem is all those people shopping on Ebay rather than getting off their fat rear ends and going for a walk around the local shops. Ozzie Post doesn't get a single cent for delivering all those packages from overseas.Originally posted by rhs58 View PostHave a look at your location.

Not quite correct. Payment is received under the Terminal Dues system. It's part of the Universal Postal Union Treaty:Originally posted by Bushbasher View PostOzzie Post doesn't get a single cent for delivering all those packages from overseas.
What is correct is that the amount of terminal dues received do not cover the costs of Aust Post's deliveries. After the foundation of the United Nations, the UPU became a specialized agency of the UN in 1948.[8] In 1969, the UPU introduced a new system of payment where fees were payable between countries according to the difference in the total weight of mail between them. These fees were called terminal dues. Ultimately, this new system was fairer when traffic was heavier in one direction than the other. As a matter of example, in 2012, terminal dues for transit from China to the USA was 0.635 SDR/kg, or about 1 USD/kg.[9]2008 D4D M6 GXL [MT ATZ-P3][Whitey's Ironman 45710FE/45682FE+KTFR101H/Dob487][extended Roadsafe links][Polyairs][DBA T3/T2][amts diffdrop & recovery points][Tin175's stone guards][Bushskins BashPlate][ARB Sahara][IPF 900s][Snorkel][WindCheetah][MaxTrax][IC-440][Parrot Asteroid][ARB Fridge][Lifestyle 2nd Row Fridge Mount][ARB Compressor][Thumper][SandGrabbers][Cargo Barrier][Tigerz Awning][MCC Rear Bar]

Just looked at the tow bar on my 120. If that is how the standard the fitters at Toyota work to they should be sacked. Of the 6 bolts holding the hitch to the chassis, the alan head ones had the washers (the ones with the nibs on the side to locate) sitting on an angle, which means the bolts where never tight. I took to these washers with the grinder, removed the lug and refitted so now the washers are flat and the correct tension is applied. The remaining 4 bolts had also become loose, but not enough to fall off.
Removed, cleaned and re fitted with never seize and now one happy little camper.

Sorry to disappoint you, BUT, I was advised by the sales department of Grand Toyota to get the Toyota tow bar for warranty reasons and use the Hayman Reece with it.Originally posted by LeighW View PostProbably never will be, the letter is worded owners who incorrectly operate their vehicle with a weight distribution hitch.
Toyota out of the generosity of the own hearts will repair anything that may have broken as a result of your naughtiness.
It's not their fault, and not a defect, your just operating the vehicle the wrong way you naughty boy!
If they were fair dinkum they would offer to replace their crap with the Hayman Reece so the better hitch could be used !John

Got mine done today. Bumper off, all bolts retorqued and all "in specs" I was told. What about the wdh I use [and which was in the back]? Don't they get exchanged for the Toyota one? Oh no they said. It will be fine to use your one "no problems".......except for the extra scratch that they put in the bumper [not worth worrying about as I have to touch up a few places], or the fact that they didn't replug in all of the reversing sensors! Of course I checked before I left the place and had them fix it and made sure that they all worked. This , of course is the large southern Sydney dealership which stuffed up my bull bar recall by shorting out blinker wires and cutting the uhf cable as well as leaving the 2 long chassis bolts out. The coup de gras was "we will send you a letter to bring it back in to get a sticker....we don't have any yet!" They didn't put the sticker on for the bull bar recall either. One does have to wonder about these big dealerships.... all show and presentation at the front desk but so poor in the workshop. The one funny thing was taking a peek into the workshop..... 3 white Prados all with their back bumper off all in a row and a silver one further into the workshop. About 7 had been done before mine! Monday must have been set aside as towbar recall day! Any wonder I stay clear of the place if at all possible. Neil

As previously mentioned had mine done at one of the Perth northern suburbs dealerships... When picked up was told all good and no need to re-tighten or replace anything. Had the HR hitch fitted when dropped off (as "instructed" to do when booking it in). Picked it up and service rep said "You've got a different hitch than normal but if that's what works for you all's good". Asked him to put that in writing and he looked at me like DUH!!!!!! Wondering if I can get HR towbar fitted and hit Toyota with the bill instead of swapping a brand new HR WDH kit for a non-adjustable Toyota LDH or what ever they want to call them!!!!!David (AKA Grumps)
Trying to get away as much as we can with the 2003 GLX 120 Series Prado towing the Jayco Expanda or 5.3 Stacer Seamaster/Merc 90HP.
The Prado build up is in process

To those being told by their dealers that the genuine toyota cast hitch is ok for use with HR WDH - I would suggest you ask the service manager to:
1. read the booklet that comes with the recall, and then
2. read the sticker that's put into the owners manual, and then
3. read the sticker on the actual hitch receiver
They should hang their head in shame as all three spots above say the toyota receiver should not be used with non genuine WDH...Cheers
Micheal.

Probably the same dealership that did mine. 1 week after I had the recall done, they sent me a letter to tell me my 'part' had arrived. Went in and it turns out it was the sticker to put on the towbar telling you only to use genuine parts. (no door sticker on mine though).Originally posted by 404pug View Post...the large southern Sydney dealership which stuffed up my bull bar recall The coup de gras was "we will send you a letter to bring it back in to get a sticker....we don't have any yet!" I got the recall done at the same time as the 90k service, and asked for a cold start test to be run at the same time. Dashcam caught the apprentice idling the car for 5-10 minutes, then going to ask someone how to do the test, then doing the test (catching the audio about what they thought about me asking for the test). Then later on, taking the car for a 'test drive', parking up for 20 minutes on a back street then driving back. They also missed a split steering rack boot at the same service. Fills me with confidence![SIZE=2]120 GXL D4D Auto, with a 'List of Wants' greater than the 'List of Needs' greater than the 'List of Haves'
