  • Check Light P1252

Hey guys. New to the forum. Hopefully guys could lend some thoughts on this.

Have a 2007 D4D 3.0. Did a major cleanup on the interior. Removed all the seats and carpets to kill nasty bugs (small cockroaches from going offroad). Clean out the seats and carpets. In the process, had to disconnect some plugs in example- 1. under the glove box - two units (turbo stepper control) & 4wd control unit: 2. Both units under front seats - driver and passenger 3. Rear Driver side seat 4. Door panels - speakers, central lock, etc

After cleaning everything up and putting back all the carpets, seats, etc I have connected back all the sockets.

Now upon starting, the check light went up followed by the vsc trc & vsc off indicators. Now in limp mode.

Used a scanner came up with this - P1252-E008786N 1. Cleared it and it (vsc trc & vsc off) comes back in around 5 seconds.

I'm stumped on this. Could not find any answers on this so hoping a specialized forum would lend some technical insights.

    TIA

    Timothy

Are you sure it's not C1252.
    'P' is for Power train
    'Ç' is for Chassis

Thanks for the reply. Yes its P1252. So P is designated to power train. Still checking since last night. Still no luck.

          Novice advice:
          1. Check all plugs tight. I have a Grande (assume you do too so the on/off button is in the centre console (I think without looking) and that may be not connected properly?
          2. disconnect the battery (this is the bit I have read before when resetting code faults)
          3. grab a beer or cup of tea if that's your poison
          4. sit relax enjoy said beverage.
          5. reconnect battery.

The point being the computer needs to lose any memory. I remember reading something on PP about it but CBF looking it up, hence the beverage time and the fact you cannot hold me responsible for wasting time as you will be relaxed if it doesn't work

mlc - marginally helpful - marginally annoying. hope it helps.

Thanks midlifecrisis. Esky almost empty. Hahaha.

Ok here's an update. Now the connection on the turbo stepper computer and the 4wd computer under the glove box. Are the connections correct? Both are matching in plug dimension so could accidentally swapped them.

0.0 <----- that's me staring blankly at you! Time for a professional to step up to the plate. Personally, I would have marked them with a marker prior to disconnecting as I'm guaranteed to stuff it up.

Thank you all the for replies. Yes, very silly of me regarding the connectors. Swapped them around (color match) and voila, all good.

Glad to hear that this has ended with the problem solved.

A lesson here for everyone when disconnecting things- mark them or take pictures.

                      Clean carpets - $50 and 2 hours
Put everything back - $0 and 30 minutes
Time wasted due to unknown P1252 - 72 hours (offset by 1 carton at $45 booked up to Visa card)
Realising the simple mistake and having it viewed by 15,000 POP members - Priceless.

Note: Don't worry, it happens to the best of us and the dodgy ones like me....

Glad you got it sorted. Note to self and others reading, if your not sure mark the connectors and take photos. You're lucky you didn't fry anything...
