Haven't damaged a neighbours property since 1974 when I launched a bolt-bomb through my neighbours lounge room window. It went through the glass, through the venetians and embedded itself in the wall above their fire place. They were sitting (luckily) having afternoon tea. Needless to say I didn't sit down for a week after that courtesy of the old man.

Moved the catch can from under the bell housing and into the engine bay hanging off the aux battery box. A little tight but works. Re-plumbed the input hose into the turbo:
Next modified my home made bracket to suit the new location:
Shortened all hoses and run them over the intercooler front bracket to keep away from exhaust manifold heat:
Trimmed the engine cover slightly to fit over the upper hose:
And I can just get my hand onto the oil dip-stick.Dave

Went out today to buy a set of radiator hoses for spares - we're setting off across the paddock on Monday. Didnt want to pay Mr Toyota's price, so went to Supercheap - only available on special order. Went to AutoBarn and told them my tale of woe. I told the guy I bet he could find a hose for a 1979 Fairlane or similar, but not for my Prado. True enough - the very first hose on the shelf was for an old Fairlane
After 5 minutes on the computer, he discovered that they can be obtained on special order. He wrote down the part number and sent me to Veales. They had none in stock, however they can get them in for the net day.
Now I know that W.A. stands for "Wait Awhile" but that's ridiculous.

Just did the 200k service
Replaced:
-Oil
-Oil Filter
-Fuel Filter
-Tank Fuel filter
-Air filter (just to be sure)
-Front and rear diff oils
giving it to repco to do the final checks and the brake fluid (got lazy here)
from my calculations It cost me about $230 in parts.
my last major service was $800ish and repco are charging $120

Fitted a snorkel
Hi peeps,
After running around the bush for a year without one.
Water on the windscreen at least twice - floated a bit only once.
Proved my point you don't need one.
Now I put one on.
Why.
Cos it looks good.
Tuffa.
Cheers,Last edited by Anth120playdo; 26-05-2015, 09:50 PM.
