Good on you. I have again been refused as mine is only cracking and outside the 10yrs anyway.
I was told they did not replace dashes only cracked, but only the melty, sticky ones like yours.

denied thrice
Thee times I have gone to Toyota:
2st to the local agent who came back and said no.
2nd time direct to Toyota after a suggestion by a local Toyota employee, who then refered me back to the local Toyota agent.
3 who said no.
I have thought of going to Fair Trade as quite frankly, the dash is not fit for purpose as the threads hear and elsewhere show,
Toyota Australia basically deny it's a problem and when said it's all over the internet I was told
"we don't take any notice of what said in there"
so what about the same problem in the US https://www.carbuyingtips.com/articl...rd-repairs.htm
I would hazard a guess that the problem arose from a change in formulation and/or supplier of the dashes across a number of models.
So to Toyota for not providing an equitable solution to the problem in Australia
I can't afford to pay for a dash replacement so I'll put up with it as hopefully I'll pass on before it does.

Tried the facebook message and was denied through there as well. As soon as I said it wasnt serviced through Toyota she said they couldnt replace it. Will never buy another Toyota again, the dash is constantly getting worse and now looks like I need to cut my losses

I've just had the dash pad as they refer to it in my 2005 120 series replaced by my local Toyota dealer, at a cost of $1250, just couldn't stand the look of it as it was, certainly makes the inside of the vehicle feel new once again, unable to come up with an alternative to the replacement dash, apparently if it had been a 2006 model, just 1 year younger so to speak, Toyota would have come to the party with a type of deal, where I would have had to pay the labor cost and they the materials. No regrets though.

They have since asked for my VIN, rego and contact number, and said someone would get in touch.

All good mate it was early in the morning when I read it lol. I did ask the service guy when I picked up the car why did mine get approved and he said no idea they just go on a case by case and he was very surprised mine got approved. Hopefully soon they just recall and fix them like in the USA.Originally posted by caleb2003 View PostMate, I didn't mean to imply that you are a liar, far from it, I meant that Toyota are claiming that we the 'out of Warranty community' are mistaken for believing that there is any rule for cars up to 10 years and also that any cars outside of that can ever be fixed, they are ignorant of the fact people across the country communicate these days. Infact when I last went to the dealers the guy their scoffed that I shouldn't believe anything on forums (in order to dismiss me), many of them are quite arrogant about this so I did ask the customer rep for specifics of why they would not grant mine yet have been definitely granting others fixed, but she said it wasn't true and sent me the vague email I posted above.
