Cracked dashboard

Just found some new cracks in the dash when I got in the car today. Not happy

Yup, that is how mine started on my 2007 VX, pi$$ed the heck out of me. Sold the car rather than have to deal with the issue, at the time, someone had suggested wrapping the dashboard with leather, that did not sound like an entirely bad idea.

Yeah but as discussed, my issue is with the passenger airbag. So far, I'm somewhat fine with the cracks but if they spread up over the airbag door, then that's when I'll do something as no one wants an airbag to either fail to deploy or when it does deploy, spray bits of dash all over everyone's faces

That's why Toyota should be doing a recall on all the 120's and replacing the dash pads due to a safety issue of the dash pad cracking over the passengers airbag. Pricks no it's a problem from manufacturing and should just recall them instead of people having to fight them. I'd sue their arse if mine cracks and fragments from the dash pad end up in my wife's face or daughters face and does damage to them. There's enough proof all over the web of this being a major issue of cracking

Seriously!! The US branch are doing something about dashes on multiple models, why can't the Australian branch do the same?!?

Yeah I have now got a hairline crack all the way from the passenger airbag to the radio mount and all across the dash above the speedo.

Only started about 2 months ago, but it moves fast!
Also considering a temporary fix. Can't say if it is heat or direct sunlight or just age.
Mines a 2007 and a daily drive. Sure she gets parked up in the sun while i get the train to work etc, but i have a sun shade inside it all day, every day...

Yeap I found a small crack the other day and im sure it was from the heat as it got yo 41 deg when I was away camping I noticed it the morning after. It's cracked just above the glove box started from the heater control and is about 10cm long im going to try and fix it some how. Not good for the price we pay for these cars

A guy on the Gold Coast reckons he got his 03 GXL dash fixed under warranty (local dealer) didn't cost him a cent.

I'm told by the service manager at my local Toyota dealer that Toyota are currently reviewing the CSE on the deteriorating dashboards, having replaced some over the 7 year limit on a pro-rata basis there *may* be a possibility that vehicles older than 7 years *may* get full warranty on P&L. Nothing in writing obviously and we'll have to wait and see. I didn't get the usual denials of a problem and talked at length with the guy regarding the amount of failures appearing on the net and the recall in the US of the melting dashes. Then again could also be BS from this guy too.
Get yours to a dealer for inspection if you haven't already and lodge your details and VIN.

Add my 06 model to the list. Just noticed it today when cleaning. Hairline crack right across the instrument binicle front lip. Had it since 2008 always had dash mat on. Pissed is not the word!
