Trying to find out but having trouble decoding the VIN - any tips?
On the plate inside the bonnet, r/h side firewall, it says BVM 03/06.
I assume that's the month of manufacture?
If Toyota want to play hardball, they picked the wrong guy - my wife and I are both journos.
Does extended warranty carry any weight?

What month 2006 is it? If it's not September or later I doubt you will get anywhere with them, they are being real bastards about it!

    Fellas,
    I have a 2006 Grande - with said cracks.
Chatswood Toyota just called back to say Toyota weren't agreeing to repair it, but wouldn't tell me what the criteria were, and wouldn't even provide any written correspondence informing me of the decision.
From what I can see in this thread they are repairing some vehicles more than 10 years old, and the decision is quite arbitrary.
Anyone have any insights or advice... I have emailed customer service to say I'm not accepting their decision.

Hi all tried to get my dash replaced (2003 120 series) but rejected twice by Toyota so went down the track of having dash replaced by my local dealer.
Negotiated a price of $890.00 for the part and $400.00 to fit which was better than original quote of $2500.

    Cheers

    Greg

I've read a heap of the posts with interest and see there's largely mixed reviews on what will be and won't be repaired, largely depends on where too!!

Has anyone had it done on the Gold Coast with any success? I have an 05/04 GXL, and am watching the cracks get worse just sitting here

    Cheers

Mexmike had success with his 03 model early this year on the Gold Coast but there have been very few others over the ten year mark that got thru.

    Hi Folks,

I too took my 2007 GXL with 210 km on the clock to the local Toyota swrvice centre. They took pics and sent to Toyota Japan.

Having the dash replaced on Friday.

FYI There is a non-compulsory recall for all toyota models with cracked dashboards as long as your car is under 10 years old, I am getting mine fixed for free. You need to ask about it they won't tell you straight out.

It does impact the resale value to great extent, they would deducted from the purchase price!
