  • I went to toyota today regarding my dash.

The guy said that their is no warranty recall on it.

He took my details and photos. 5 min later came back and said it's approved. New warranty has just come out.

4-5 weeks wait for parts from japan then it's book me in for the changeover

      • Can anyone confirm the VIN range that Toyota are focusing on to reject claims?

        • no unfortunately.

The impression I got from the guy is he couldnt be bothered\didnt really care.

He said his mates prado was rejected, mine might aswell.

He took pics of it and gave it to someone else. Walked back and said its approved. New warranty.

What is the month and year of first registration of your Prado?

Interesting, I took mine into the 2nd dealer on Monday to have photos taken. No reply as yet.

You're within the 10 year cut off, hence approved immediately. Doesn't sound like there is an updated notice then.

They're not going off VIN ranges, only the warranty date i.e the delivery date of the vehicle. If you look in the front of your service/warranty book it is shown there in the vehicle details.

                    • As I mentioned above I got mine in 2days!!!!!!! before the 10 years and got immediate approval but was Told if I had come in after that 10 years from delivery it would have been "very difficult". When you think about it, 10 years for a warranty claim aint half bad. I am the 3rd owner [although have had it for 8 years] and all Toyota have to do with it is 2 recalls- bull bar and tow bar. If yours has an 06 delivery date check your dash very carefully- mine cracked over a 2 hour period in an underground car park and has spent most of its days undercover.

                      • From my experience, being successful in getting a replacement for a 2004GXl V6, the input from the dealer is crucial.
I saw two dealers one took photos etc and got a knock back, eventually a yes after an appeal. The other gave me a yes without even sighting the vehicle after I put in a request via their chat line.

                        Cheers

                          • Got a call back from dealer and told NO. They said that they were told nothing at all past 10 years. I'll think about it a bit more.
