Would have to agree about the dealers. I took mine to Mackay Toyota and got partially excepted with the excuse that it hasn't been serviced by them so they came back with a offer that Toyota would cover the parts and I would pay for the labour, labour was $2500 which I told them to jam it up there arse. Also got told that it I didn't proceed with the claim that I wouldn't be eleigable for another claim. Then found out about this latest program so I called Ian weigh Toyota in Rockhampton, the young girl that I was dealing with was brilliant. Due to mine being over 10 years old she put in a manual claim which was excepted by Toyota at no cost to me. The new dash was fitted last weekend, so it was worth the 400klm drive. I know of at least two others that have been rejected by Mackay Toyota for the same reason.

Dash replacement
Reading recent parts of this thread; i'm getting less enthused about being able to have my 04 dash replaced; it's riddled wiht cracks right to left, up and down. While that bugs me, it's not a patch on the irritating vibrating noise when i accelerate...any acceleration comes with the thrummmmmmmmm from (I think) the dash. Current solution is to turn the music up loud. Does anyone know of anywhere reliable I could pick up a second hand dash as well as where I could go to have it fitted? Am taking off on a long trip later this year and am even contemplating selling the vehicle if that's what it takes.
Any direction is appreciated...
Thanks
Alan (in Freo)

No point getting a 2nd hand dash if you don't know which year model it is coming out off and when the cracks will reappear. Best to get a new one for $900 and fix it yourself. There's a thread on this.
As for the vibration, have a clean out of the interior and then have a passenger place his/her hands on different parts of the dash/interior and see if the noise can be isolated.

part#: 55401-60905-E0 production: 200209-200608 note: sandal wood,trim#0

part#: 55401-60927-C0 production: 200710- note: black,trim1#
part#: 55401-60927-E0 production: 200710- note: sandal wood,trim#0
from the info i found, looks like they had 3 versions throughout the 120 model year and in two colours for the vx grades (inc. grande) in aus.Originally posted by amts View PostThat's right as confirmed by my dealer. The 3rd set of numbers superseded the 2nd set which superseded the first set. The 60927 will be the one the dealer can supply at this point in time.

Read back a little. I've posted the part numbers for the dash for everyone. Amayama is a good place to buy from as well.
Edit: didn't see the new page. Thanks to Andrew above for quoting my postLast edited by Wtrxprs007; 28-07-2016, 04:30 PM.[B]CANYONEROOOOO *whipping in the distance*

From what I can tell, the new dash does feel different; ie, less leathery/rubbery and a bit stiffer, and not as shiny too. We'll see in 5-10 years and see how it holds up.
From my part number list, I'll assume all the 120s made after October 2007 would have a different feeling dash. I'll have to find a few to know for sure[B]CANYONEROOOOO *whipping in the distance*
