Time for an update on this one. I delivered a prototype to an automotive engineer for towbar compliance testing last week. I have recieved an extensive engineers report after the testing with loads of facts and figures about what they tested and the results and lots of complicated figures about how many newtons of force were applied blah blah blah.
The summary of the report is that it "passed easily" So I can now legally get a compliance sticker made and attach that to each bar and no problems about hooking up the trailer or van behind this one.
Here is one picture from the testing I was provided, I have a couple more in the actual report but cant work out how to extract them from the document.

Just as a matter of interest, the company I used does most of TJM's work and was also recomended to me by the government department that does all of the ANCAP crash testing in Australia.
I have a few bars on the go at the moment, my powder coaters are away on holidays at the moment and not long after they return I am away for 6 weeks giving my rear bar a real world test through the Australian Outback. Having any ready before I go is just not going to happen, but upon my return it will be full steam ahead to get these made and sent out to whoever wants them.
I will aim to get a price sorted and start a for sale thread before I leave, giving people a month or 2 before I start in ernest sending them out.
Cheers Andrew
