My current reverse camera came from Fleabay and I'm not happy with it's low light performance so I bought another one off ebay with IR leds but when I bench tested it, it got hot and the picture went wonky so it's still on the workbench where it has been for nearly 12 months.

I can't wait to see some photos of your installs, particularly the image quality. I might have to consider one of these "Eclipse" units.

You could be right there Chippy.!! Nah I got no reason to hide.!! I bought the prado in Qld, and of course saved a few $'s on it. I wont mention I would rather support a reasonable government with the stamp duty rather than a @#$%y bunch of $ hungry bastards.! Try 2% instead of 6.5%...!!! How much surplus do they need..!! ahh that feels better, now where were we.!!
Oh the pics, tell ya what chippy..if you get a reverse camera I'll give ya a hand to install it and take some pics as we go.! There's not much to it really.! If I can do it anyone can. 8)

Sounds like a good deal to me. I like the Polaris screen setup

Still have to figure out what type of camera unit or whether to go the full kit.

It will probably have to wait 'til we get back from our trip but I'm keen to do it.

            Cheers

              Great pics, thanks. Looks good.

It must be my strange sense of humor, but I just saw this pic and thought, where are the cross-hairs so you can line your targets up with better accuracy.

Yep, that's enough from me for one night.

No worries Chippy, yeah that system sounds pretty good.! As for the camera etc, you will have to do your "homework" on that. I was in Jaycar the other day and noticed they have a few cameras and systems there, they might be worth a look.!

I did have the garage lights on I just noticed, didnt think about that.!! :?
But it does give great night vision with just the reverse lights, as you can see half the car behind is in shadow but still fairly clear. With no other lights around its still pretty close to that image.

Just purchased a Waeco RV-250, with RV -19F Reversing camera system at the Waeco Sale .

Anyone got this unit and, if so, where have you mounted the monitor?

Hi all, having just purchased my first Prado yesterday I'm new to all of this so not doubt will have many questions over the coming months.

I'm keen to fit an Eclipse BEC-106 camera kit and have contacted Freeway for a price... they're telling me $500 (camera and cable) plus maybe some adapter plugs which I don't think I'll probably need by the sounds of it.

Can anyone recommend other places that sell these for a more reasonable price. I assume Freeway in Dandenong/Malvern was the right place?

                          Welcome wannawodkato,
I bought mine through eBay from the US. I can send you the link to the sellers that I bought through if you want it. As for the adapter cable, I needed it on mine but seems the later models don't need it.

Hmmm, mines a 2003 so I guess I'll need that adapter. I know I can get one here for about $30.

I just picked up a new Eclipse BEC-106 kit on eBay from HERE - about AU$236 landed (US$160+US$39.50post). The cheapest I could find here was $350 so I thought I'd pass this link on for others who might want one. After my purchase they had two left.
