Received mine yesterday also... very impressed with both the unit and the service.

It will be a big weekend for me - starting Friday I have ceramic coated Pacemaker headers (PH12670, all mandrel bend) being fitted, Saturday is the high loop EBC nudge bar then Sunday/Monday is the reverse camera.

Fitted mine today, following the post on LCOOL - was far easier than I expect and completed the whole job in 3hrs. Cost me $270 all up ($235 for camera on eBay including postage and $35 for reverse wire).

Unlike the LCOOL instructions though, running an extension from the reverse wire to the reverse light isn't necessary. There are two very obvious wires (one white and one brown) that run from behind the glove box across the back of the head unit and into the main wiring loom - just tap the reverse wire into the brown wire (it's part of the reverse electrics).

A very easy install to complete and the result is fantastic! I would highly recommend this camera to anyone. Amazing vision in very low light too. I had planned to take some pics along the way but had limited time to get the job done so I had to just get on with it. That said the LCOOL instructions are very good and most of what you can/should do is very obvious once you start.

Not yet but I plan to as soon as I have found a switch that fits into the existing blanks in the dash either side of the steering column. There was plenty of length in the reverse wire so was easy to run the excess down to behind the switch panel ready to go.

Does anyone know a good place to get an assortment of switches that fit the factory holes?

                      The following should do

                      Cole Hersee Part No.58027-01 (On/Off)

                      Search for distributors at
                      http://www.colehersee.com/05contacts/index.htm

I used one for my reversing sensors to turn them off when backing a van etc.
It was fitted and sourced by TJM Geebung Ph. 36330377

i beleive the Narva ones that you can buy from repco are a perfect fit. so i've got a few for a couple of things i want to plug in, but am yet to actually do it and confirm...

i think one of Chippy's many pics has an example. no idea which post it was in though!

it can be great, it can be dangerous.

i've got both excellent bargains from sellers who've delivered well beyond expectations. and i've been caught up in scams were i watched $700 float away...

Feedback is the king, don't be worried by the occasion bad report, as long as the seller appears to attempt resolution, just make sure the seller has a history of selling the type of product you are buying.. e.g. someone with 800 positive feedback reports for selling stickers and badges who's now listing electronics is something to keep an eye out for! (benefit of hindsite there!)

and at the end of the day, if you can buy a similar product from the same seller as someone who's referred you there, you should be fine!

                            G Day,
Completed my install today the Lcool instructions are very good. My installation took a little long than 3 hrs probably an extra 2 as I had my little helper helping me. ( James aged 5).
I actually required an adapter to plug the camera into however I did not need to connect the green wire as it was already connected.

                            Below are some photos

                            Adapter required picture Below

I see your plugs are different from mine. The unit I have had the plug socket more towards the centre of the unit and the reverse wire (green) had a separate socket more towards the right side. Apparently there are two different setups for these. Northfield on Ipswich Road, Brisbane checked mine to ensure I got the right plug - I'm told the presence of a stacker under the passenger seat indicated one type (the one I have). He had a plug like the one in your pic in his other hand but it wasn't the one I needed in the end.

Thanks for the info regarding the switches... I'll check them all out.
