This seems a fairly decent lift for 2 inches!

I reckon if you intend to load the front up....then it may likely settle down a fair bit like mine did

Ok did you leave the 15mm spacers in? I'm thinking twice about taking them out now as they seem to be in proportion the the rear. The prado seems to sit level, not nose down which is nice. Ill see how it looks when I get the new tyres fitted tomorrow. Still got my 265/65 cooper ATR on. Getting new BFG AT fitted tomorrow in 265/70. Should make a difference. Cheers

That looks like a 3" lift. I would be concerned about CV angles.

It's a 2 inch kit with the spacers still in. Te tyres make it look big. I'm gonna wait a week or 2 to see how much it settles, if its still high than 800mm in the front in a few weeks, ill get the spacers taken out........or buy a steel bar.... Hmmmm

I based my comment on your measurements. A steel bar won't bring it down 1" since you are removing an alloy bar to put a steel bar.

                What size are the spacers?

15mm spacers. Most lifts settle around 10 mm too.

The 15mm spacers would explain the ~30mm extra height you got. What does you CV angles look like?

                    • There's a bit of an angle. Not too radical prob about 30 degs. I'll take a pic. Looks pretty tough how it is but I think if it was 10-15 mm lower ( no spacer) it would be perfect. I reckon I'll take them out Friday. Just to keep the cv angle neat. Plus the shock doesn't have enough down travel. I heard them top out over the speed humps in my beach carpark.

                      • Yeah might be a good idea for longevity. How much droop have you got currently?
Maybe get the spacer chopped down to half to get your happy medium ?

                        • The spacers that come with the Iron-man kit aren't for use with the Prado. From memory they are for the hilux only. I remember something about looking into this when I put my lift kit in. Spacers are illegal, but then what's not these days...

I found this while looking around, pretty much what I got with my kit I think

So it says that you can use it but as long as you still have the downward travel.

                            Nigelh,
Other than the raised nose how do you find the new lift in the short time you have had it? First impressions meeting expectations?

yeah very plush. firm with no body roll. a little pitchy on undulated bitumen roads, i think on road the slower rebound/ spring rate of the standard suspension is maybe more comfortable but off road the clearance and articulation is really great. like i said very plush feeling set up. Ive had EFS shocks and springs in my 80 series cruiser and Dobinsons coils, EFS shocks in my 76 series and i think the Ironman is actually better. The best ive ever driven is a GU patrol that had OME fitted but i think the Ironman is just as good. well worth the money so far.
