if i get a chance sometime in the next week or two, i will try some 315's on for you and show you how not very practical it is.
i've already tried, but didn't take any pics.

but hey, if you want to show us up and prove us wrong about 35"s, by all means go for it. i'd love to see some footage of it off road as well. (i'm not having a go at you, so don't take it the wrong way) this is also coming from someone who has 'xtreme' wheels and tyres and spotlights that match. lol (procomp extreme muddies, procomp extreme alloys and IPF extreme spotties)

Nah , 285 I'm thinking are the go done it easy ... Poor prado wants 35" though she also wants a sas!
There wont be much Prado left once you've SAS'ed it and you'll start compromise on your much loved comfort levels. Sounds like a pointless exercise.

I was in a similar position when I had a 90 series Prado. I bought the Prado before I knew anything about 4bys and after I was bitten by the 4wd bug, I realised that I wanted the capability a larger, live axle 4wd. I regret having spent as much money as I did on my Prado, only to get rid of it when I came to terms with the fact that I had bought the wrong vehicle.

If I had my time again, I would have looked straight past the Prado, and got a turbo diesel 80 series. But that horse has bolted now. I wasted my money on modifying the 90 series and I never had a chance in hell of recovering the money spent, so when I got rid of it, I had to settle for an inferior 4.5 Petrol 80 series.

Don't make the same mistake, simply because you're too proud to admit that the vehicle you have spent your hard earned cash on isn't the right vehicle for you.

Be certain of your priorities before turn your comfy Prado in a money sink that you may never be happy with.

      My 2c.

also keep in mind that that particular body mount is placed there for a reason. and not just to sh!t you off when you're trying to fit bigger tyres.

Sick 120 , the after market upper control arms, does that give you more forward caster adjustment than the stock ones? I mean you still have to be within spec right

if you run anything bigger than a 285, everything will be out the window (drivability, handling, braking and safety). the last thing you wanna worry about is castor.

castor is bringing the top of the knuckle rearwards, not forwards.

if you have a look at the pics in my thread, the UCA's i run have an adjustable ball joint giving you +/- 4 degrees of adjustment and that's not including the adjustment cams in the lower control arms.

the body mount is designed in a way in which it can save your legs in the event of an offset head-on accident. if the prado is in an offset head on accident, that particular body mount you want to chop (and weaken) is what stops the wheel and tyre from moving backwards and caving in the floor/foot well and crushing your legs. that is why that mount is where it is and why it's so close behind the mudflap.

Anyways guys I appreciate the advice and info but I'm done here. Yes I could go and get an 80 series or a pootrol like everybody else does , but it's not special they don't appeal to me.. Prado is different , it's different to see one getting flogged offroad , seeing one done up with more than just 265 all terrains and ARB bullbars. It's gonna stand out from the crowd , I promise that!

This sounds like a very silly and expensive project, but hey good luck.
Can't wait to see the photos.
