What is NCOP ? Well If I could get body lift engineered that would definatly be an option... So my prado is a 2004 GXL, 1kz turbo diesel manual. I have driver and passenger airbags, and ABS, I'm not sure wether I have VSC or not

NCOP is the Nattional Code Of Practice relating to vehicle modifications.
VSC is vehicle stability control, only the up market models or those with an option pack had VSC, easiest way to tell is look at the transfer cae lever, if it has L-N-H only then it probably has Traction control and VSC, if it has LL-HL-N-H then it is a normal GXL without traction or stability control.
I don't fancy your chances of getting a body lift engineered with airbags, but you never know your luck in the big city. Definately something you would need to speak directly with an engineer about.

Manual 120s didn't get VSC. Airbags and body lift are usually ok, that is they are not mutually exclusive. Talk to an automotive engineer. Should be a list on the Department against Transport site or google. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

Yea, no engineer is willing to sign off on body lifts when airbags are fitted , even though it's basically been proven that it won't affect airbag deployment .. Point of impact is no different to car with 4" suspenion or 2" sus & 2" body lift, though no engineer is willing to put there ass on the line which is fair enough. But if 1 was to get the ball rolling it woul change things..
The thing with a long travel system is extending ABS lines ?, dunno how you would go about that.. Tbh I would prefer a long travel front end over a sas , and ofcourse it would be cheaper. Increased wheel base and stability and alot of travel , but still the comfort of IFS.
That's something I will be looking into in the future, many FJ's and 4runners have done it allready .. But for now I think it's 285's without major mods is pretty doable.2004 Manual Turbo diesel 1KZ-TE , 5" lift , 37x12.5 BF Goodrich KM2

What??? No 305's or 315's you've gone soft....... have you looked into some power up mods for the 1KZ before doing all this? I have'nt seen your build thread so apologies if this has been covered.Originally posted by Ghostriderhusky View Post.. Well I'm still keen for 305's since BFg km2's are a pretty small make haha... Not to worried about power, they will be dedicated offroad tyres not daily drives so power isn't that essential, she's got plenty of balls for low range stuff anyways
especially with no exhaust after the dump pipe

Hi ghosstriderhusky look like your project that a bit far from level prado can make it
How much coin you think you can spend ?
Sorry about my English if this thread is hard to read!!
1. I tell you about true story
2. I try to done it before and give up coz waste much my money
3.start from when I look from car I can tell you I looking for Nissan petrol or 105 but my wife don't like the shape so if boss don't like it on point to buy. She like shape of 120 so we have to go with
4.I spend Money like 2time from first time 2"lift kit coz want to stay in ligel or insurance and I don't happy with that so I pay for 4" again
Coz I want to put bigger size more than 285/70/17 coz when I went to off road some time is still stuck at diff so I think bigger tire is should better . That true I put bigger tire in diff is high than 285 ! But is not much from I expect that should be. I put 34/10.5/17 in because don,t want to load the engine .
4.1 bad point. You can't drive high speed on highways maximum I did is 125 km/h
. Think about your car higher tire bigger from I fill tank full. If run 265/70/17. Can make 1450-1600 km
285/70/17. 1200-1300 km
34/10.5/17. 800 -1000 km
How much you have to pay more fur fuel
4.2. Problem from your car higher : new brake line
: diff drop kit for angel of cv joint
: lower control arm you need stronger than standard
: pan hard rod when flex
: new ratio diff
4.3. So now I did change most of think I can do. But from bigger tire that over size I have to wheel alignment every 1000 km
If you happy to do that you can try
4.4 my car still can't get blue plate
4.5 if you happy to pay fine like me .
If need some think to ask I happy to help you can text to me on 0425-885-600
Hope this helpLive in mud

Have a look at these pics. When you can mod a 120 to get this kind of flex where is the need for 35's?Originally posted by 8608 View Postyou're gonna be cutting heaps to fit a full size 35" in the rear.
pics of worn 265's.

have you actually compared the difference in a 305 to a 285 or even a 315 profile tyre in what is available?? If you have I don't think you would really bother. End of day a 305 gives you no more gain in height over a 285 comparing a single brand and actual available profile tyres. If you had to go through so much work to fit a 315/35" tyre and you only gained 2.5cm of extra clearance from fitting that tyre what is the point?? I'd rather have spent the coin on front and back lockers a winch and other gear.Originally posted by Ghostriderhusky View PostWell I'm still keen for 305's since BFg km2's
Keeping it to the one brand as an example lets take the BFG's KM2's and what is actually available in their listing. Lets assume they are all to size as well.
285/70 R17 would have a sidewall height of 19.95cm
305/65 R17 would have a sidwall height of 19.83cm (so in actual fact you would not gain any more clearance than the above tyre, in fact you are loosing height.
35X12.5R17 converted is actually a 318/72 but for now lets call it a 315/70 for round off sake its side wall would measure in at 22.5cm
315/75 R16 just as another comparison in case you thought of going to a smaller rim. It would have a sidewall height of 23.60[FONT="Comic Sans MS"][SIZE="2"]09 D4D Prado - Toyota issue White
