All measurements were taken at 38psi...................... Nah I don't know, these are just realistic measurements based on tyre sizes. As we all know a lot of tyres vary in claimed size, then rim width can also affect how tyres bag giving a bigger footprint.

I personally don't see what all the fuss is about with 35" tyres, me personally I'm fitting up 37" tyres that's where the traction and clearance is at.

those 20" rims for your 37" KL71's are gonna cost heaps. you might need some walker evans for some strength.

i know a shop in town that sells walker evans.

so is this what you are going to do?

the rough country kit is one of only a few which does not affect ground clearance greatly. at least it has replacement knuckles.

you could for the cradle kit with an existing 2" suspension lift for even more height. i think you will also be restricted to 18" or larger wheel diameters as well.

these cradle kits still need you to chop the body mount to clear 35"s. i suppose if you are fitting this type of kit, you're not really going to be worried about the BM chop.

the kit is pretty cheap considering. i vote: Do It!

I would if prado was a show pony but it gets hammered offroad .. 4" and I wouldn't mind that monster rides diff relocation brackets either. I know they reduce frontal Clearance, but when I eventually get lockers I think it's pretty necessary. I've been with a hilux that's had twin locks, and the extra tourqe with the lockers has twisted his diff out of alignment , breaking a cv, as soon as we replaced it, 4 metres Driven broke another cv. Done this 3 times .. And then his stub axle (spindle hub) whatever you call it snapped, collapsed the bearings inside, bent the knuckle , and also cracked the chassis as the crossmember. Haha I lost alot of confidence in the hilux/prado front ifs when I saw this happen all infront of me :/ not sure if the diff misaligned had anything to do with breaking the spindle hub but to me it seemed like it was a major chain reaction it all happening together... And that's my reasoning for wanting the monster rides brackets, still got the strength , not keen on just the spacers

Those drop cradle kits are sick and gain enormous amounts of underbody , approach and departure angles, but lose front diff clearance, as they are just too high, I wouldn't be confident driving one , since the front is gay and so stiff (would be allright if it had heaps of flex)

the MR diff drop mounts are not central. they push the diff housing over to the right about 10-15mm causing the RH CV to bind and break. this limits droop on the RH but relieves a bit on the LH.

                  Hahahaha, entertaining thread.
My 2001 95 series, running 235/85/16s on a 2" lift, has taken me everywhere my locked/6" 80 series ever did (sometimes further), and does it more comfortably. The traction control is brilliant.

These tyres are slightly taller than 32" - and at full travel just touch the inner rears and have mm of clearance to the rear of the wheelarch.

Reckon you'd be hard pressed to find an engineer that will sign off a body lift on an airbag equipped vehicle

Ghostrider - plenty of good advice being offered, your choice if you listen to it. Isn't the purpose of these forums to listen to people who've done it, tried it, seen it or rejected it? Oh, and insurance reps and the RTA regularly monitor these forums - guess where they're gunna look first in the event of a claim or an accident? A colleague tried the 'vehicle recovered and illegal bits swapped' routine, assessor found photos of the vehicle on-line and asked a lot of very awkward questions. Just lucky it wasn't in the coroner's court.

                  Have a good day

                      Just rattling a few cages

Used to get asked questions like this all the time when I was in the motor trade (long before the internet!) -
"Can I..........?" and you'd patiently explain why that wasn't possible or why it was dangerous....and they'd toddle off and you'd often end up fixing the mess they'd made.
