Bridgestone HQ unable to supply, none at wholesalers.
    BUT....
I can have the new 265/65/17 LT.
    Only $60 a tyre more
So I'm guessing that B'stone will no longer be making / supplying 265/65/17 passenger tyres, and that's the reason for the sale price (if you can find them).
Go the LT and then you can give us an update before the rest of us need new rubber.

      Cheers gang.
They will fit, their is a few guys running 275 series, if you have a hard wheel cover no go though.

        Can't get passenger version of D694 265/65/17.
Paid $355 each for 2 of the LT versions.
        Heavier, as expected.
Look the same, apart from LT markings, and tacky white lettering (which i put to the inside out of sight).
        Made in Japan, not Australia.
Will report ride etc after a few k's.

Well Hutch, if it is, I cant see it. it's marginal at best IMO.
But of course I haven't been able to compare them side by side.
Supposedly a harder compound, so might last a little longer and further.

              Re: BRIDGESTONE D694 PRICE

Got a quote from Jax at Browns Plains this morning for all up deals with the tyres and 4 speedy alloys in 17 x 7.5 (didn't think to ask him to split it up because i need both) ....

              Maxxis $1880 (LOL)
              D694 $2100
              Pirreli $2200

Hadn't even thought about the Pirelli's till now so will need to do some research, but seems like a good price for 694's - $525 a wheel so if you take the speedys at about 220 the tyres work out around 305 .....

Good thing is they do suspension too, so asking for a quote on bilsteins and shockies - might be able to screw them down a bit on price ....

EDIT - duh, meant to say bilsteins and coils

$305 is dear for the Bridgies, i think BJT had them on special for $250-280??? something under $300 anyhow.

265/65/17 LT $358.00 each (for five tyres) from Bridgestone Centre in Cairns today. I might try Tyrepower and Jax as well. Some people are still advertising the normal spec for sub $300 around the traps I see.

Info on the new D694LT below from Bridgestone, the new 265/65/17 LT is an 8 Ply Rating.

Prices in Cairns are $333, $340 and $360 at various retailers.

I am still making my mind up between these, Goodyear Silent Armours and Cooper ST's to replace the Grandflops.

For peoples info, here is a direct response from Bridgestone as to why their website does not reflect the availability of the 265/65/17 LT construction in the D694 sizing chart:

                      Cheers

                      Hi,

Apologies it appears the website hasn’t been updated to reflect the new LT version. If you do order them – just specify to the Dealer that you require the LT version. The product code for the LT version is 710354.

                        Re: BRIDGESTONE D694 PRICE

Looking for new tyres and loved the index - thanks Wengnuts. Wanted to go to an LT tyre but never had them before. Only LT in original size that I could find is 694's. Sort of makes choosing a tyre easier. I've been through all the posts and have 2 queries:

1 - Could someone who owns LT 694's give their opinion on handling and ride. Do they "drive well". One tyre shop says LT give a harsh ride (he was refering to Cooper ATR's) :?

                        2 - Would you buy LT 694's again ?

                        Cheers

                          Re: BRIDGESTONE D694 PRICE

I fitted them just over 2 months ago, got them from beaurepairs for $270 ea.
Compared to the Dunlops that only lasted 40K, they give a far greater feel to the road and are only slightly noisier, a slight hum at 100k's. Time will tell how they last but for the price you cant go wrong.

                            Re: BRIDGESTONE D694 PRICE

Sparksy, you sure they are the LT version you purchased? That seems to be the run out price for the non LT version. The tyre shops including Bridgestone up here still don't know about the existence of the LT version, they had to ring South for the availablity and price when I enquired over the last couple of weeks. I can get the non LT version for $250 at Bridgestone on a run out sale and $360 for the LT ($330 at Bob Janes.).

Also at the end of day the load rating difference between the two tyres seems to be stuff all. 112(1120Kg per tyre) versus 116(1250Kg per tyre) is it really that much different in construction? About twelve percent (130KG of load) stronger by my poor maths.

Purchased 5 x 8 ply rated D694 FZ LT265/65/17 from Bridgestone the other week, $320 each. Noticably stiffer in the sidewalls giving a firmer ride then the Grandflops at 36 psi cold. Other than that, performing like round black rubber thingys  . K Mart were $320 standard price (he showed me the screen), I had to negotiate to get Bridgestone down from $360.00.

Man, you got to shop around.....

In Perth, I searched bridgestone places, Morley and Osborne Park.

                                Morley wanted $320 for D694 and $350 for D694LT.
Interestingly, I saw the bloke punch in $219 in his calculator at the start when doing his sums for D694 price. I take this as being the supply price......
I told the bloke he's bloody dear, and he told me hold on, and went out the back. He returned and said he has a second hand set D694 with 75% rubber that he could do for $140each. I laughed and walked out.......

Osborne Park wanted $330 for the D694LT fitted and balanced.

I will get a set of the LT's fitted next week or the next, definately before xmas. I must make some more calls though!
