Hi All,
I got the ARB UVP plates (120 series) after a trip to Marysville last year i totalled the OEM plates, the reason i decided to get the ARB UVP plates as opposed to other brands was simple.
Value for money - i purchased mine from ARB thomastown UVP + Install was $498.00, i did talk him down from $550.00, anyway comparing to some other brands on the market in which you only get 2 guards i could get the 3 from ARB as it included the transfer case guard for the same price as the other brands that were only offering the 2.
Whilst the ARB transfer case guard is as per OEM spec as detailed above the steel is 3mm thick and provides better protection than standard, i am not concerned about the back of the transfer case guard/actuator as my thinking is if im worried about damaging that i have bigger problems to be dealing with.
The weight of the plates was not of concern however for those interested i can happily advise that the added weight of the UVP has not affected the ride height/handling/fuel consumption etc.....
Since having the ARB UVP installed they have been thoroughly tested through the Vic high country/ mansfield/ Mt disappointment/ Toolangi etc plates have received damage but are not bent or distorted badly out of shape.
Overall i rate them highly and would be happy to purchase them again in the future.
End of the day anything is better than OEM protection
