Let us know what you decide. I am also looking at how best to install my engel but need to retain the use of one of the rear seats (or leave a child behind which may be easier). Would be great if I could install ply and a fridge slide to only half but I can't work out to secure it.

    1: In general.

2: No sorry, no photos. The fridge is out of my car atm and turned off. So 1, it doesn't vibrate and 2 it's in the dining room and I'm sure that family doesn't wanna see that.

This my not be a bad idea for the 150. A full false floor with a cutout and hinged panel for one seat to still function.

I am working on the same thing.
Full sheet of ply, using the rubber mat as a template.

    Hopefully, this weekend...

Yes I did. I used the genuine rubber boot mat as a template then cut it out of 12 mm marine ply. Having a full false floor provides greater rigidity and hence less twisting than if you had a half floor when a full fridge is extended on the slide. I left both seats in by the way so all I have to do is undo the 4 bolts and slide out the whole kit if I need to make it a 7 seater.

Cheers Purdo, did you make the false floor across the whole back?

Gday Steve, I've got a Waeco slide underneath a 45L Evakool travelmate fridge/freezer. I've made a false floor which I've secured using the anchor bolts and built a box around the fridge using the speedy frame that you buy from Bunnings with matching grey marine carpet. It allows me to maximise the space in the boot whilst ensuring ventilation for the fridge motor. FYI, I've also shimmed the genuine Cargo cage to give me an extra half inch in the boot as well.

    Cheers
    Purdo

I'll post up the bracket I started and the bit it was going to replace. I reckon it is quite doable. Leaving the LH seat anyway because the vinyl trims between the seats are on the RH seat. The only thing to think about is that carpeted piece of hardboard behind the seats. It is split part way to fold up when the seat or seats are raised. I would have had no hesitation cutting it in half but you might. That board has a clip in connector right at midpoint. The connector is pop riveted onto the board. I was going to drill the rivets and remove the connector then find a new spot and fit it into a hole in the bracket I was making. I had measured the fridge board to sit 5mm from the LH seat so that the carpet would sit firmly against the seat. At the back it needed a piece of carpeted ply or mdf to fill in the last 200mm or so where the seat mechanism is exposed as this is usually hidden by the carpeted board. Sorry if this is hard to understand because I was working it out in my head as I went along. Once you pull the RH seat and trims it will be clearer. I was going to keep the LH trims and infill factory and only make up a new infill at the back where the rear aircon vent is, much the same as I'll have to do now.

Job for today is get more 10mm2 eyes for the cables, trim the top of the box and make/fit the lid. Glue the box in and get it ready for fitting. Somehow transfer the bolt holes to the base board and make up angle brackets for the front. Then the infill pieces. If I can get all that done I will be happy. Take tomorrow off to run the 6B&S from the main battery. And my favourite, glue carpet all over the thing, leave it outside for a week to destink and then bolt it all in next weekend.

I probably didn't make it clear but the reason I pulled both seats was the Director of Private Prosecutions isn't very tall and while fridge height was good getting stuff up and on the lowered seat back was still really high with the car lifted. We used to need the extra seat in the 120 from time to time and that was easy. Anyway with just 4 at home and a second 4wd available in the family my wife decided that we can make do with 5 seats or two cars. Removing both seats made it easier for me so that is what I did.

Bit of an update, not much happened today for lots of reasons but here is the current status

I haven't built the side trims yet nor drilled the hold down points. Finished the internal box wiring and located all the bits. I will tidy up the box as it currently has a few temporary screws holding it while glueing and also mount the vents (big hole on both sides). The small square hole at the back is for the power outlet for the fridge and outlet for the voltage voltage meter that I haven't bought yet and also the trigger for the DC DC charger to tell it the engine is running and trip the changeover relay.

Space is really tight though. That box is the width of a 120AH AGM battery plus a little bit. 20mm between the fridge and box to clear the handle on the fridge and about the same to the rear door for the same reason. With the door open the fridge opens just past vertical and the lid is outside. Quite a lot of room lost between the 120 and 150 but the positive is the space in the second row of seats.

    Thank for that mate.

I'm trying to mount the fridge with as little modification as I can and still retain one seat as the 150 will be leased.

Once I get it I'll have a good look and sort something out.
Good luck with the fit out. I'll be keen to see how it turns out.

    Steve
