I thought Safari themselves said not to turn the head around? Anyway I like the Safari because I can fit a pre cleaner on it. As for the rest it is personal preference because they all work well and to say one is better than the other or looks better than the other is just wasting elections.

After a Google...In the past I have read on the Safari site but now both that site and ARB say can be run in any direction. However I found another site where tests were done and the reverse facing snorkel sucked more grit and water and had a higher differential pressure than forwards facing. I guess it is akin to the crap that gets sucked onto the back door vs what sticks on the windscreen.

Anyway to each their own. I don't wear hats backwards either.

If it is really dusty put a sock in it or fit a pre cleaner.

I called my local dealer to have them fit it, he said Toyota don't do one, even after I explained its on their website. I'm not a big fan of the airtech shape, but each to their own.

I have just fitted a Genuine Toyota Prado GDJ150 Snorkel Ram Head Type Jun 2015 - Aug 2017 PZQ12-60010 to a 2010 Prado 150 Kakadu.

I had checked out the instructions numerous times as the fitting template does not quite align with the top edge of the guars or the door edge.
the air boxes are the same on the 2010 to the 2015, so i thought i would have a go,,, what can go wrong. New guard if it was a fail.
Aligned the template and worked out the mean of between the two edges.

The hardest part is drilling the guard, its a ball biting decision.

Once drilled the first hole well WTF lets go.. then 4 more and then find out the nibbler will not fit, so drill 3/4'' hole and off you go.

drilling the A pillar has a few hesitations as instructions say use a 5mm length drill bit, but all good.

then fitting the inner tube in the guard, takes a bit, as initial set up the tube was 3'' to short, then what the Funk what have i done, but you have to manhandle the tube in through the inner guard so both ends on the rubber joiner are in the engine bay.

Once completed i am happy with the results, yes you can turn the intake around just un screw the two captured screws and lift off turn around and screw down.
