Re: ECB & TJM & Ironman Bullbar

    Well folks

Talking to ARB today and the new bars are due to be released the end of February, they are taking orders, the price is the same as the 120 series..... but wait ..... there is tech bulletin out that the VX and Kakudu with the HID lights won't be able to use the same bar and as such they aren't available yet, there is some issue with refracted light.

Re: ECB & TJM & Ironman Bullbar

I saw the Ironman bar in the flesh at the 4WD show today. It does look pretty good. Looking forward to seeing what their bar with the fog lights and indicators look like.

I noticed that there is a big gap between the bar and the intercooler/radiator, I really hope smeone comes up with a guard that mounts here to protect everything. The intercooler is tucked up fairly high, but Murphy's Law says if there is a gap there you are sure to damage it.

I spoke with Brown Davis at the show and they said they have not even looked at a 150 to see what guards are needed and what existing 120 guards will fit. They did say if anyone in Melbourne wants to lend them a vehicle they can make up some templates and whoever helps will get a cheap set of guards.
      Thanks,

Re: ECB & TJM & Ironman Bullbar

Am waiting for an ARB bar which is on order at my local 4x4 shop.

This morning I got a call from work (the 150 I drive is a work car). Anyway, work was told by the local (regional NSW) Opposite Lock store that the ARB bar for the 150 had failed an ADR test due to shadowing from the headlights, and the company who makes the bars for ARB is in receivership! The OL store suggested we get TJM alloy bars.

A quick call the ARB Vic reveals that ARB now have part #'s and pricing for the 150 bars, and I was told the bar would be 2-3 weeks away.

My local 4x4 shop has 5 150 bars on order and knew nothing of the above story, and they said that ARB make their own bars.

Can anyone shed any light (without shadowing)?

Re: ECB & TJM & Ironman Bullbar

gday guys just been to arb and got this info try and attach error message "the board attachment quota has been reached" any way here is jist....part numbers available.....

there is some shadowing on low beam due to the unique positioning of the lowbeam headlamps.....this is more noticable on HID vehicles...this does not affect the headlight performance or compliance with ADR's.....arb recommend fitting sahara bar to vx, zr and kakadu models as these have HID lights

ZR and kakadu can also have an optional centre grill located camera...this camera will exhibit obstructed vision from bullbar and more so if driving lights fitted.....if a warn winch is to be fitted ARB suggest the control box is relocated directly onto motor of winch (top of control box facing rearwards)

the radar for anti collision system option in ZR and kakadu is also located on the grille badge...structures forward of this device may affect the operation of this device...

well thats about it will try and upload attached letter again some time

Was there anything in the letter regarding front parking sensors on the upper spec 150s?

              Hi Folks

The latest news confrims the info from my local ARB dealer, I believe that he has been very open with 150 series info so far..... here's the bad news he told me today that they had produced 100 bars to date, they have over 350 on order, orders with deposits from December have still not been delivered, if you want colour co-ordinating add two weeks. The bars are being supplied on a chronological basis so, if like me, you placed your order mid February the liklihood of delivery before end of March is unlikley.

This matches what other bar makers (QOA, Ironman, etc) are quoting so it is a case of wait your turn no matter which brand you pick. Also no Safari Snorkel available yet, seat covers not available yet, the only fitted floor mats available are the Toyota genuine ones, drawer units still under development, suppose that is what we get for being "trend setters".

              Regards, Richo.

Not entirely correct. QMCC have their Sandgrabba mats available - I have a set. Blackwidow have drawers ready.

                  Hi Schniff

What outlets sell the Sandgrabba Mats, also do you know if the blackwidow units take out the rear sets to install? Thanks for the heads up.

Re: ECB & TJM & Ironman Bullbar

I just bought mine direct from QMCC and had them shipped. I think you can get them through TJM.
Blackwidow do remove the rear seats - there are some pics up on their site.

I've removed mine and am adapting the old drawers from my Paj. The electric seats weighed in at 25kg each!

I saw a 150 VX with the ARB Bullbar today at the Adelaide Caravan and Camping show on the ARB exhibit - it looked good.

I took a couple of photos on my phone but will not be able to load them until I get home tonight.

Looks the goods! Shame about the colour though...

I thought it would look more like the one for the 200 series with the rounded wing parts rather than rigid ones, but to me it looks very similar to the 120 series bar.

                        Anyway, looks good, thanks Bevwone!

Certaintly does make it look tougher. And I notice they have integrated the sensors into the bar.

This thread should really be split into an ARB thread or at least renamed...

There is a general thread about ARB Gear with quite a number of photos of the ARB bar in it.

Just an update on seat covers and floor mats. Seeing that you are in BrisVegas, you can pickup the Sandgrabbas directly from QMCC at Underwood. I bought a set from them and they fitted it in less than 5 mins. Fantastic product.

As for seat covers for the 150 series, the "Canvas Seat Cover Company" (also in Underwood) make custom fitted canvas covers which are also airbag compliant. The "Wet Seat" company also make airbag compliant custom-fitted neoprene covers. MSA are in the process of producing canvas seat covers. I've done a fair bit of research on seat covers for the 150 in an attempt to "kid proof" the Prado. Email me if you would like more detailed information.

Have you guys finished the protector bar for the 150 yet? I am just waiting to see that before I make a decision on bullbars. I think the ARB bar looks ggo but the price is just getting rediculous.

                                Hi Folks

I was at TJM today and they showed me a picture of their Type 13 bar and bash plates to suit. It is similar to the ARB bar, the outside loops follow the shape of the headlights more and the uprights are more rounded, all in all it is a good looking bar....but....release to the public end of May!!

They will have their 150 with accessories on display at the Brisbane 4 x 4 show this weekend.
